So, quick update on the Welcome to the Circus Tent comic. I really wanted to make something fully rendered with backgrounds and all the fun bits and bobs but I've grown really unhappy with the end results. I feel like I was so hellbent on making something rendered that I completely ignored the fundamentals of good design. Just rush through the sketch and line art just to get to colors as quickly as possible. All this has done is take up way too much time and not even look as good as I'd like.

I was working on the 3rd set today and realized I needed to go back to the drawing board to make something I'm happy with. From here on, I'm gonna be dropping the color and rendering to focus more on form and characterization. I'm also going to be remaking the first 2 sets in the same style just so everything is more consistent.

So far the new stylization is way rougher and simplistic but I'm actually much happier with the end results compared to the rendered version. Sorry if you liked the rendered style, I just cant keep doing that much work for end results that keeps disappointing me. I also want this bad boy done before Labor Day weekend and that wouldn’t be happening if I was dropping only twice a month!
