I really wish I knew I would be dumped after only a few months after dating someone. Especially for my first time dating. I know it’s supposed to be a “learning experience” and “good for me to have my heart broken at least once” but, I sort of wish I didn’t date anyone. I wish I never spent countless hours waiting for a reply, waiting for them to wake up, constantly giving them every ounce of love and affection I could even through my anxiety and depression. All of the time I spent texting this person and neglecting everything else. All the times I used my phone during school just to text them. Helping them through all of their issues. Sacrificing everything for their happiness. Singing them to sleep, reading stories, laughing with friends, keeping it a secret. A painful secret that killed me inside. My ex was an extremely jealous person, though. At one point I couldn’t talk to anyone without being afraid my ex would be jealous. Ignoring friends just to keep one person happy. But, they were never happy. Too many times I’ve heard the phrases, “You spend too much time with this person.” “I thought you loved ME.” “You never loved me.” “You’re so beautiful, you’re mine and mine ONLY. I know it sounds a little possessive... but it’s true.” I would be ignored, neglected for days, we would fight every other day. I felt imprisoned. It never stopped. I kept loving this person no matter what i was put through. “Everything will be alright, you’ll get better.” “You’re too flirty with other people. Why don’t you ever flirt with me? I’ll show you how to flirt correctly...” I felt uncomfortable and used. I felt like I was an object after a certain point. Even after that... I still thought I was loved.
