Since I joined Art Fight, I was motivated to make a reference sheet / style sheet for my original characters-- aliens called Nisenians from the planet Yanori!

I intend to create a proper webcomic about them called 'Days X Nights'! For now I'm just posing art and animatics and such. @daysxnights is their designated blog!

This is still one of my favorite OC Animatics/comics-set-to-music I've ever made 🥲

My OC Boreas gets put through the freakin wringer. An accident that killed Boreas' best friends, a terrible relationship with his divorced father, the proceeding alcoholic antisocial downspiral that leads him to ruin all his relationships, and getting involved with a gang that ends up turning on him and nearly killing him. His life seems destined for awful, until one fateful encounter with the ghost of his late friend Xenon and a puppy on the side of the road forces Boreas to turn his life around.

Eventually Boreas ends up cleaning up his act, rekindling a lot of his relationships, and even finds love. I hope his story will spark hope in people. 🥹

When I heard Caleb Hyles' cover of Addict, I thought it really fit my characters Xenon, Boreas, and Ferris ^^

(Since they aren't technically humans from Earth, it's normal for my OCs to have polyamorous relationships :V )

Based on this snippet I wrote in 2021:

My OCs Xenon and Boreas were in a band together, but it isn't until after a lot of plot stuff happens that they finally realize they have feelings for each other.

Man... To think if it weren't for this song, my most prolific OC ship would have never manifested... I heard Daphne Blue by The Band CAMINO back in 2020 and thought 'Huh, this song could describe Xenon falling for Boreas...' and now here we are, lol. These two have become a major part of the plot because of this. (Although they don't actually fall in love until the epilogue).

Bonus--

My OC Boreas has so much trauma that his eventual relationship with Ferris ends up being a very slow burn... Even after they start dating, Boreas still gets surprised whenever Ferris shows him genuine love and care.

Bonus:

When he was in high school, Boreas was in a rock band with his two best friends Xenon and Bismuth. But then, a terrible on-stage accident led to both of them dying and Boreas barely hanging on with terrible survivors guilt.

The trauma still weighs on him, haunting him every day. Literally. Boreas doesn't realize it, but his late friend Xenon is now undead spirit… and feels awful that he can't help his old friend.

My OC Boreas is a washed-up rock star who joins a local gang known as The Colds. Generally speaking his new friends are a terrible influence on him, but one redeeming quality is that they encourage him to make music with them... just not in the genre Boreas is used to.

My OC Boreas lost his two best freinds (and his sanity) in a terrible accident; ever since then he's downspiraled into a terribly antisocial, violent, alcoholic insomniac who pushed away anyone that could have helped him.

When he finally finds new friends… it's in some bad influences from a local street gang. Egging on Boreas' desire to let out his stress through the destruction of private property.
