Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ
Xerxes tried to hold it in, but a sharp snicker still escaped past his clenched teeth. It was such a funny point to fight him on, especially since he couldn't relate to the feeling. Xerxes had been around for so long that he could count on one hand how many vampires he met who had enough years on him to regard him as he did Emir. "Little bro, it's all chill. No matter how you cut it, I'm the closest thing to a big brother our community is gonna get. I've fed and fucked my way through enough frat houses to know what I'm talking about," he says with the most uninhibited grin. Yeah, he had a good feeling about this one. "I'm not saying I'm gonna try to become a Czar or anything, we've got to get used to being alone. It's just us against a city that wants to see us with our balls cut off." Despite his lackadaisical demeanor, Xerxes felt the current situation was dire. If any more restrictions got placed on their kind, then they may as well just start feeding on the puppies in pet store windows. That was no kind of freedom. "I invited you out for us, because of us. Nothing else matters besides vamp life. I'm going to put us first without fear or shame and I wanted to see if you're ready to play ball. Are you dope or a lame fucking asshole?"
Xerxes really hadn't spoken to him much when he'd just been a marshal. Now that Emir was senator, they were sitting at a bar chatting it up. Or attempting to anyway. Really, the Juno vampire was always willing to talk to people as long as it benefited him. He had to be the best and he always ended up being exactly that. His positon now was enough of a sign of that. The other vampire had more experience than him, sure, but he really was sick of people talking to him like he was a child. Then again, he guessed that was the opposite of what this one was doing. Somehow Xerxes had mentioned getting ran through in frat houses and being all about that hashtag vamp life. all in one go. This guy was fucking weird. "I don't need a big brother, dude. I don't know if anyone else really needs one either. Or have you asked around about that already? I feel like you have." He paused. "Xerxes, buddy, what the fuck are you going on about? Is this some hazing shit that you guys do to new senators? I'm on Punk'd, right?" He knew he wasn't so he let out a sigh. "But fine, I'll give you my ear for now. We're both about that vamp life so clearly we have something in common. Sort of."
"Yeah, I know," Rhiannon bit out impatiently. Her attitude was nothing personal, it usually never was, but it was especially not so while grief weighed so heavy on her. These past few years sucked. Her jaw clenched and flexed, collecting her tension as Rhiannon tried not to let it take over her. Not right now, anyway. Emir could be spared the worst of her but then a visit to Tuscany and seeing some rich tourists might be in order. They wouldn't survive long enough to suffer much anyway so, really, they should all be grateful she's not in the mood for the extra fun of torture.
Rhiannon sighed, releasing a bit of her tension. "Magnus finally got Harlow back and he might not say it but I can tell he'd like to have her around for a bit longer." That sounded way too selfless a decision on her part; fucking Magnus. "Plus, Juno is finally back," she added. "Lots of Archfiends are... I'm intrigued." That was kind of the truth. The real her would be genuinely curious and excited to see them all around; Rhiannon figured once she got in control of her stupid boohoo's than she'd be excited again.
Of course she knew that. Rhiannon's brand of training was always tough love. If you fell, you had to get back on your feet and hit harder on the way back up. Speaking to her felt just the same as that. He spoke, she snapped, he brushed it off because it was never as personal as it sounded. Add in the fact that she was grieving and that just added fuel to the fire. "I know you know," he said with a hint of a joking tone laced within his words. The last thing he wanted to do was piss her off. Instead, he moved on from that and tried to focus on what she was actually saying. It didn't seem like leaving was in the cards for her. "I'm starting to think you just wanted to psych me out with thinking you were going to leave for a second there."

Vampires were not creatures that Tripp held much use for. There was little magic in them, save for the ones that could compel or turn into those disgusting rats. Once upon a time, their blood had been useful; until the Eye had begun to create it synthetically, had harnessed the use that came from it. In his eyes, Emir was of no use. There was nothing that he could gain or harness when it came to the vampire. And yet, somehow, in the most pathetic way, he was there all the same. Within that damned fucking flower shop, with the vampire right before him. With that aggravating smirk on his lips as if he knew something that Tripp didn't. As if he understood why the lycan continued to show up, to remain within his orbit without a possible chance of pulling himself away. Tripp hated it. The thought again slipped into his mind, of how easily he could rid himself of this problem. How easy it would be to shift, to latch onto the vampire until the poison upon his own teeth took effect. That was not, however, what Tripp did. Instead, he found himself playing into the vampire's words. As he always seemed to do. Fingers pressed along the expanse of Emir's throat, bruising as they ever were, before Tripp had him slammed against the counter. How unfortunate for the flowers. "Get hard for me," words spoken against the vampire's ear, only after Tripp had leaned down, body flush against him. Fingers pressed in harder to Emir's throat, it was a good thing vampires didn't need to breathe. "Do it, so I can leave you here worked up and wanting."
Emir really couldn't care less about the flowers he'd been working on. It was easy for him to make another arrangement to replace any that suffered from unfortunate circumstances. He certainly wouldn't have called this circumstance unfortunate though. Really, he considered himself lucky right now because he'd gotten exactly what he wanted. Tripp was always feeding right into his hand and the Juno vampire could do nothing but revel in it every single time. Hand wrapped around his throat, the other's mouth at his ear. It almost seemed too easy. Maybe he'd let Tripp think otherwise though. It'd probably help his ego. There was a smirk on his face as he was pressed against the counter. "Oh, I already am." He spoke with a constructed voice, his gaze falling to the lycan's mouth as he tried to lean in closer until their faces were a mere inch apart. "Teasing is unlike you. Don't you want to fuck me?" His gaze flitted to the door and then back to Tripp. "Anyone could walk in at any moment and find out just how fucking badly you want me. That's why you won't leave. I've got you wrapped around my finger and you don't even know it."

Insufferable, unbearable, every variation of the same meaning slipped through Tripp's mind whenever he found himself within Emir's space. The natural distrust of the vampire ran deep within the lycan. Had him damn near salivating at the mere thought of sinking his teeth into the other. One bite, that would be all that was necessary to bring the vampire down. To send him to his knees and then permanently into a grave. Yet --- he held himself back. Talked himself out of what he could easily do. Perhaps it was because Emir was a senator. Or perhaps because Tripp was meant to play nice while they were in Rome. "No, you misunderstood," he stated, as the thought of crushing the bouquet before the other slipped through his mind. Would it piss off the vampire? It was about time the tables were turned. "The flowers would be for me. For a job well done."
Emir really couldn't help but laugh. It was pretty damn amusing to him honestly. The lycan was so determined to say just how much he hated the vampire at any given moment. Yet...here he still stood. Tripp was definitely a masochist, that was for damn sure. Why else would the lycan constantly be here? Emir was convinced there was something else deep down. Perhaps like? How absolutely preposterous if he happened to like someone like Emir. That had to be what it was. There had been plenty of opportunities for the feral lycan to kill the marshal turned senator, but he guessed that the backlash would've been far worse than any satisfaction. Speaking of satisfaction, he was sure that he could give that to Tripp right now. "A job well done? I'll be sure to make the bouquet for you early then." He circled around to stand in front of the lycan now. "You can start trying now if you want. I promise I won't get hard when you wrap your hands around my neck."

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ
Outwardly, Xerxes had to show support for the reconstructive changes in Rome. In truth? He would've rather asked Emir out for a drink to anywhere else, but if the vampires still thought of Xerxes as a narc then he'd never be able to accomplish all that he wanted. The youngest of their community especially had to know he was down to party. "I'll let you in on a little secret, kid," he says as he leaps onto the bar in a move that would both make it easier to speak into Emir's and give off the chill, carefree attitude he wanted to exude despite his stiff demeanor. Xerxes was always on edge whenever he had to actively suppress gluttonous temptation. "Establishments like this used to have way more blood flowing. Giving our meals equal rights will always feel wrong to me. I mean, how do you feel about the vibes tonight? Are they chill or lame?"
To be honest, he really wasn't sure what goal Xerxes had right now, but Emir was certainly skeptical about it. Either way, he didn't like the fact that he'd been called kid by someone that looked like he was the size of a teenager that did nothing but work out every five minutes. Still, he looked straight ahead as the other senator hopped up onto the bar next to him, legs dangling because, well, they certainly weren't going to reach the floor. He would give the other the benefit of the doubt right now even though he wanted to throttle the Mars vampire immediately for disrespecting him not even a second before. It hadn't been intentional maybe, but Emir didn't take kindly to people mentioning how young he actually was compared to all of the other decrepit ass vampires in this place that were senators. "Dude, did you pick up a 'Slang for Boomers' book or something? And don't call me kid." He shook his head and moved away slightly. "Did you invite me here just to mention your disinterest in equal rights for people that aren't vampires?" Emir didn't really care about much other than the rights of vampires so he didn't mind talking about it, but that felt like more of a conversation for literally anywhere else.
Rhiannon was in a state of painful uncertainty. Titania, her grandmother, was finally dead and that should have made the former faiman ecstatic but now it just felt like she had wasted part of her life. Would it feel this way or worse if Aegnor was finally dead? If all the elves were gone forever one day? This little victory didn't taste so sweet as Rhia thought it would and perhaps it had something to do with the fact she had lost Gabriel and Ezekiel in the midst of it all. Then there was the fact the elves were far more untouchable than they'd been as fey months ago.
What was the meaning of her life now? What was the meaning except to be a specter that watched the younger generations change the world and grow while she remained stagnant - a relic of the past? Morrigan was genuinely proud of her progenies at the very least. They had made a more than acceptable legacy for the former 'goddess' and queen. "Of course I can believe it," she muttered, giving Emir a look as though to say it was obvious. "You think I would have bothered with you and Theo if I thought you weren't capable of being better than most vampires?" She hesitated, debating speaking her next words. "I'm gonna make sure things stick for the Juno vampires this year... Then I don't think I can keep this up - staying here." She had wanted to go far away with Magnus and she still did, especially since it had been other Marshals and the Senate who had put him away in the first place. But despite all her bluster for throwing her loved ones into the wind to figure shit out on their own, Rhia thought of Ezekiel.
Emir couldn't really remember a time where he'd felt like Rhiannon wasn't there. For him, at least. When he had been just human, she had been his only friend for a time and then she had given him this gift where he felt like he had to be the best. He always had to be the best at everything he did. It wasn't just for anyone else. No. It would always be for himself and himself alone. However, there was always the voice in the back of his head that told him he didn't want to disappoint his sire. He never had to his knowledge, but it could always happen. Emir was not the kind of guy that took much seriously, but he looked at his position with the utmost importance. Even as a marshal, he knew he would be the one to be the future of their line. Not anyone else. Maybe that was overconfident of him, but he wasn't about to be just some name that was forgotten. That was how he ended up a senator anyway, wasn't it? Because Theo had saw something in him, had noticed how important he could become and had decided that Emir was the future he wanted. That didn't change how hearing those words from Rhiannon made him feel though.
"Not staying here?" He looked at her for a moment before looking away. His hands went into the pockets of his jacket as he cleared his throat. "I'll be fine without you, you know." It wasn't meant as a jab or as if he wanted her to leave at all. He really didn't. But he didn't want her to think of him as weak for wanting her to stay. The truth of the matter was that he would indeed be fine without her now. She had given him everything he would need to be okay on his own. Plus, he was sure she would maybe be a phone call away.
Why had Tripp come to this place? There was no reason for him to be there. He didn't need flowers, unlike seemingly so many others within the city. He hadn't exactly known any of the six, probably wouldn't have trusted most of them. But he despised any notion that he had come to this place solely because of the vampire that was now grinning at him like he belonged in a looney bin. For a moment, the lycan debated on ignoring the other, on meandering around the shop before he simply left. He knew how much Emir loved to piss him off, so maybe he wouldn't even give him the satisfaction. Then again, Tripp was a damn fool. "A bouquet is exactly what I came for," he mused, as he drew closer to the insufferable vampire. "What's your favorite? It'll be good to know when I finally rip your damn head off."
For how much Tripp seemed to be constantly annoyed by the vampire, he was always standing so damn close. Not that Emir minded at all. He was all for the lack of space that was between the two of them at all times. It made it that much easier to sway the lycan into giving him whatever he wanted. And it was made so easy by just how frustrated the other got. He was starting to think that Tripp was just waiting for the moment that Emir said something annoying just to get his hands on him. Which was perfectly fine to the senator. He wasn't going to ever say he didn't enjoy it. The smile on his face every time was enough of an indicator of that. "I knew you were into bouquets." He winked as he looked back down at the one he was currently working on for a customer. "Glad to know you're thinking about giving me a nice send off. You're so caring."

biography
Born in California, Emir couldn't say that his life was mediocre or extravagant. It had always been somewhere in the middle and he felt like he belonged somewhere in the middle. His parents had been normal which, in turn, made him the exact same way. There was never anything to look forward to, but he had found himself used to that feeling. That was until he met a friend that felt like they were the most exquisite person in the world to him. He had described himself as a halfblood, a cambion that could wield power Emir could only dream of having to himself. It had enamored him and given him so much to want for that he never even knew he could want. Gaining power meant nothing for someone that had ambition like he did though. Even though his life was just normal, Emir knew he was always capable of so much more.
The supernatural beings that he had been exposed to had his eyes opening in wonder most of the time, but he knew he couldn't stand there with his mouth agape waiting for something to happen. Emir had to make things happen on his own or nothing would happen at all. Perhaps that had blinded him, but he had been young. He was only a teenager still and he had decided to pour his life into something that wasn't just normal. He wanted that power to wield and he would stop at nothing to get it. That meant he couldn't just be some regular person asking for a gift to be bestowed upon him. Emir needed to be exquisite himself. So he asked his dear friend to teach him everything he could possibly know about the supernatural and to train him in defending himself. He wouldn't be laughed off or just inconsequential to people. Emir was going to be important by any means necessary.
He had sought out that power on his own and worked hard to make sure he was noticed, too. It wasn't easy for some regular human to prove himself, but Emir had never wanted to be just regular. Perhaps that was what caused that one vampire to turn him. She had come to him in the dead of night, seen something in him that everyone else hadn't. Where his halfblooded friend had left, she had still been there. Emir had realized that she was young like him and he always wondered if that was what had drawn her to him in the first place. He never bothered to ask though. His transition to becoming a vampire seemed to be easy because of it. A progeny, she called him. A prodigy. Rhiannon was by no means someone he thought was going to just hold his hand through all of it and he never wanted her to. He had picked up being a vampire just as easily as he picked up any fighting or instruments or art. Perfection was what he strived for and he wouldn't let himself be anything less. Even if it meant that he never asked for help.
Eventually, Emir was pulled to Rome and had become a marshal for their Senate. Of course, he had made sure to know everything he could know about the position before he wielded it. He wouldn't be some naive child that they could look at and think wasn't worthy of it. No, he was going to be someone that was powerful and someone to be feared if need be. If someone were to pose a threat to the very foundation of all the Juno line had built, Emir was not afraid to get his hands dirty. He would always be a firm hand and people took notice of it because he made sure they noticed him. Young wasn't a word he would let them use in regards to him. Anonymity and recognization were two different sides of a coin for Emir and he had no problem making sure that he was capable of both.
