&Â URIAHâ:
âItâs always a good thing that I have you,â Uriah added, grinning as he followed her in the kitchen. One thing that he knew for sure after going through all of this, despite how difficult it had been, was that there were numerous people that had his back. Emily, especially. âDeal â donât worry, no finger cutting will happen on my watch. I may be a shit cook, but at least Iâm careful with sharp objects,â he smirked, digging through the drawers for a cutting board. âYouâll always be allowed in my kitchen, Em. Even if you did bring me to the hospital, at least Lou would be there to stitch me up.â Uriah shrugged, pulling the board out before grabbing some of the vegetables. âAnything new going on with you?â
âAw, Uriah, thatâs so sweet.â Emily was grinning from one ear to the other as she looked at him, playfully nudging his side with her elbow. She was always trying her best to make those she loved feel better, and if it meant anything to them at all, she figured she succeeded. Besides, she liked taking care of people. âReally? Thatâs good. You should always be careful with sharp objects,â she joked, winking at him as she started rolling up her sleeves to get started on the pasta sauce. âYeah, but would he like me after that? Iâm not sure. Itâs definitely handy to have someone to stitch you up, but Iâd rather want for that not to be necessary in the first place.â Tugging her hair behind her ear, she shook her head as she got out a pan. âNot really. Iâm starting to get the hang of the whole bookstore thing, so I guess thatâs good? Uh... might move places soon if Milo doesnât change his mind about giving me his loft, so thereâs that too.â
