I feel like that’s literally the opposite to what I hear from others and I see where they’re coming from. Dirk is so demeaning about Jake, who acts even more pathetic than in canon and it’s heartbreaking to see that they don’t work it out despite the soccer of it all 😭😭.

But I feel like their love is somehow almost stronger there? It’s in the way Dirk so aggressively writes jake off and carefully narrates around him but is obviously Not Okay about it. Or how even the most demeaning, ooc version of bgd still inspires Jake to take charge and leave a bad situation. But also they dont fucking talk and when they do it’s not nice at all and ugh I wanna put them both into a salad spinner.

Anyway everyone loves toxic yaoi but then balks when the yaoi gets a little too toxic?? Come on, all the best parts of dirkjake are there it’s just… spicier…

yes and no, I take the 18+ thing real seriously and unfortunately there are not a lot of places a I know of that can limit over access. I had something happen like a year ago now that made me real sensitive to who has access to my NSFW stuff so I crack down on it hard.

also, I was not confusing sex and gender, I was just stating a fact! all satyrs are biologically male and nymphs are biologically female. There’s a transmasc nymph, Del’fi, and obviously gender wise he is a guy, but nymphs are still all the same biologically. Also a satyr who is most likely transfem in some way, but we haven’t met them yet.

and yes, dirk’s society is in fact NOT STRAIGHT. Satyr relationships typically come in trios: one is a housewife/cheerleader there to support the other guys and keep the relationship stable, one is a leader there to guide the others, and one is just there to fuck shit up and keep stuff interesting. also, mpreg. They haven’t fully explained how yet, but the satyrs can get pregnant. Also they have menstrual cycles. So dirk’s transness definitely became integrated into their society!

one interesting thing is that the nymphs don’t have periods like the satyrs do, and one of the nymphs was straight up making fun of Swiss for his “hormone-crazed ramblings”. The whole interaction just felt like it existed to canonise Dirk as transgender to be honest, because there’s literally no way he made a society of men who are victimised for having these qualities without it coming from his own experience.

my reasoning is because why the hell not

Dirk and Roxy have from moment 1 been trans, I’ve never drawn or thought of them any other way. More recently I’ve been drawing them with pre-surgery bodies because I recognize that not everyone has access to gender affirming care, nor does everyone want to go under the knife, I don’t draw to be woke or what have you but if I can help one person see themselves normalized and loved it’s a bonus.

Too often trans bodies are fetishized for their transness, or are depicted as ‘still a man/woman’ who’s a little confused. I spend a lot of time taking into consideration how I’m depicting people, and I rarely ever do things frivolously in my art. Them being trans is so so important to their character, and to me.

When it comes to Jake? He is not trans to me. At most he is a Demi boy, unfortunately most people seem to think he’s trans because of how ‘unmasculine’ he is, not realizing they’re perpetuating gender roles in attempt to defy them. Ridiculously I also see a lot of arguments for him being transfem because he looks up to and idolizes women, dawg come on. Can boys not look up to women? Is it bad for him to think highly of the them? Does it really make someone less of a man if they respect women without sexualizing them? No he doesn’t want to follow the roles of his gender, but those are unattainable for everyone, including cis people. He wouldn’t be happier as a woman she would just be equally as sad with more estrogen. Putting a feminine frame on him discounts the joy he has in just being a boy, undermines the freedom that should be given to people to explore their identity, and reinforces misogynistic ideas within the trans community. If she’s trans to you great, awesome, but please analyze why you think that way, and if it degrades her.

In a similar way, Roxy being a woman is so important to her I just can’t imagine where the sudden change comes from. I understand her desire is also rooted in the belief that as a woman she NEEDS a significant other to be a stay at home wife to, and while I’d like to say it isn’t normal to want to ‘prove’ you’re feminine enough or masculine enough through your relationships or feel like you HAVE to follow the binary to be ‘fully transgender’ or ‘correct’ it is.

I don’t care about Jane.

This isnt meant to scold or lecture or anything this is just how I feel and my thoughts as someone who’s spent many many years battling gender based self hatred.

i rlly like your art and i was wondering if you could maybe make some form of jakeroxy if ur okay with that.. i dont really see a lot of jakeroxy art on here.. and if people do draw them its usually not with tmasc roxy...

Hey, I would love to however no matter the gender to me they will always be platonic. Having said that, I cannot get behind the idea of transmasc Roxy, maybe if I read any of the extra stuff I would but as it stands to me she always has been and always will be a doll.
