Elias listened to her patiently and nodded. âItâs important to be able to protect yourself, nobody is gonna do it for you.â Yes, there were eyes on him at all times at this gym so someone was always watching his back in public places but at the end of the day heâs at home with his partner and Elias needed to know how to protect himself and itâs why he keeps himself fit. âAlright, letâs go to the punching bag.â He walked towards it. âYou know, itâs easy to want to be able to protect yourself but are you willing to be able to physically hurt someone in order to save yourself? Sometimes protecting yourself means running away and not fighting head to head.â He tried to explain, meanwhile the MC had their guns and their abilities to protect themselves without fear. âHit the punching bag, letâs see what you got, cariĂąo.â
âExactly. I knew youâd understand.â She had had self defense lessons before, but most of her lessons focused on just that- defense; not offense. Which was something she wanted to change. It was time she took matters into her own hands. Emily grinned as they made their way to the punching bag, ready to learn and let go of some of the frustration she had been feeling. âIf thatâs what it takes, yeah. I canât count on Liam watching my back anymore. I have to watch my own back. No. I donât want to run away, Iâm not scared.â It was her stubborn need to prove herself. Nodding once at him she did as she was told, hitting the punching bag with as much force as she could, several times.Â
