The names of those killed by racism and police brutality are written along Chicago Avenue in Minneapolis. George Floyd was killed on this street in front of Cup Foods after being accused of using a counterfeit $20 bill. The site of his death has been converted into a large shrine.

One of my favorite posters from yesterday’s Montreal #blacklivesmatter protest ✨
“I fucking love this photo. Where stood the statue of a slaver, stands the raised fist of a proud black man. Share it wide.
Bristol isn't erasing history. They are making it.
How shameful it would be to have to tell your kids and grandkids that - when this happened - when the greatest movement for civil rights swept the world and tore down idols to slavery and inequality and made Western society a better place at last - you stood against it.
Finding #AllLivesMatter on someone's old facebook wall will be like finding Nazi memorabilia in a dead relatives attic.”

Pride was always a protest.
“I’m speaking to you from my heart. Look, I don’t know if I’m going to have a career after this, but fuck that. Today is about innocent people who were halfway through their process, we don’t know what George Floyd could have achieved, we don’t know what Sandra Bland could have achieved, but today we’re going to make sure that won’t be an alien thought to our young ones. Every black person in here remembered when another person reminded you that you were black. So none of you out there, all those protesters on the other side, protesting against what we want to do, protesting against what we want to try and achieve, burn you, this is so vital. I need you to understand how painful this shit is. I need you to understand how painful it is to be reminded every day that your race means nothing and that isn’t the case anymore, that was never the case anymore.” John Boyega at The Black Lives Matter protest in Hyde Park June 3rd 2020
For whatever reason you’re in the closet, you deserve to enjoy pride!

Alberta CANADA is making it ILLEGAL to protest
http://chng.it/tbQDqVq6jQ
http://chng.it/tbQDqVq6jQ
The Alberta government passed Bill 1: Critical Infrastructure Defence Act in order to allow RCMP and other officers to arrest, fine, and jail protestors who occupy places the government deems a place of “critical infrastructure” and includes legislative buildings, mining sites, railways, and PUBLIC ROADS in or outside cities! This is likely in response to the Wet’suwet’en hereditary chiefs protests and the solidarity protests across the country which blocked railways and pipelines in early 2020.
It will likely also effect future BLM, environmental, and other human and land rights protests. I think this is a very relevant and scary bill right now, and we need to tell the Premier that we will not be silenced!
Please share, read the petition, and sign!!!

THIS is a Google Doc that includes compiled information about the bill, as well as a template for Albertans to write to their MLA about the bill
Alberta's Bill 1
Have you come across any resources authored by black and/or indigenous Canadians on how to... I'm not confident how to phrase this, but like, how to amplify the voices of both communities without diluting either, or framing anti-black racism and anti-indigenous racism in Canada as falsely equivalent? And in particular, the language that is appropriate to use? e.g. I feel like I've heard that 'Indigenous Lives Matter' is not the phrase to use but I can't recall the alternative.
