I maintain the position that Bull’s model was scaled down to make it easier to work with, and will continue do so until my dying breath. The Iron Bull is the Shaq of qunari: his supplementary lore makes a point of saying he’s an unusually large dude. However, he’s only a couple inches taller than a F!Adaar, and only has an inch or so on a M!Adaar in cutscenes, who we can assume are intended represent the qunari average. His head is also fucking tiny compared to everyone else in game, which is our biggest indication he’s supposed to be much larger.

Let’s do some quick and dirty “math.” Dorian has idealized proportions, which makes him about 8 heads tall. For the purposes of making my job easier and because he’s a heroic human male in a video game, I’m going to say Dorian is at a minimum six feet, or 183ish cm for those of you in the rest of the world with a sensible measurement system. Each head is approximately nine inches, or twenty-three centimeters.

Bull’s in-game model sits around 6′6, not including horns. This is tall by human standards, and consistent with the height we’ve seen qunari models to have in comparison to human models. But! If we scale Bull up to have a face the same size as Dorian’s, he shoots up a good eight inches / 20cm, and seems to be the size Bull is in some cutscenes, bearing in mind the cinematic designers sometimes need to scale models and push them into the ground to get the framing to work with all the races. (This might also put F!Adaar around 6′10 / 208cm and M!Adaar around 7′0 / 213cm. My personal rule of thumb regarding qunari height is they sit an average of a foot taller than most humans.)

But we can go bigger in fanworks, unlimited by the restrictions of game assets designed to share rigs, animations, and variable protagonist cutscenes. Let’s push it a bit and make Bull’s head bigger than Dorian’s. Let’s say, for the sake of neatness, Bull is two heads taller than Dorian, for a total of ten Dorian heads.

This sets him at roughly 7′5, almost an entire foot taller than his gameplay model. I feel like this is the sweet spot for him, and is my favored estimation of his canonical size. It makes him appreciably bigger than Adaars without pushing into the range of qunari gigantism.

But just for fun, let’s make the Bull eleven Dorian heads tall, because we’re beyond pretending Bullmancers and Adoribulls don’t have size kinks.
