Casper moved briskly through the crowd towards the flash of red hair. Resting his hand on the girlâs shoulder he sighs. Lifting his brows he looks around the gym for any sign of Felix before glancing back to the girl. âIâm sorry you had to see that. None of this was meant to happen. We were supposed to find them⌠Iâm sorry.â He mutters with a small sigh and the shake of his head. âHow are you holding up Embry? Are you okay, do you need anything at all?â Casper inquires grabbing one of the blankets that were being passed around. Slowly setting it over his nieceâs shoulders. Looking over his shoulder a briefly before facing her again. âHave the security given you the okay to return to your dorm yet?â Right now Casper needed to be there for his family. He needed to make sure that they were okay.
@embryunhinged
She was trying to be quick, dancing in between students and teachers alike, grunting a bit now and then when her newly healed ribs protested. She had nearly reached the door when a heavy familiar hand came down on her shoulder, asking that she stop. Embry had to grit her teeth not to yell out. Despite knowing who it was, her entire body was on high alert. Turning around her eyes went to her uncles, shining with a mix of panic and disapproval. âSorry? Why the hell are you sorry? And its.. Iâve seen a dead body before.â She reluctantly admitted, remembrance flashing behind her eyes, her body tensing in immediate response. âWe shouldnât be here anymore Uncle Casper. Its not safe here. We should leave.â Her words firm and hard. While Embry was no coward, this enemy had no face and went to kill students at random. She had not survived a terrorist group and attack to die at the hands of some faceless psycho in a boarding school. How was she holding up? Her eyes widened at the question, crossing her arms in front of her chest. âIâm barley sleeping, last week I made a knife out of my toothbrush like prisoners do in prison and my roommate thinks Iâm insane.. I donât feel safe here. How could I or any student after Halloween? After this...â She sighed, grabbing the ends of the blanket, hands digging into the fabric. âNo they havenât said anything yet. Do I have to? I donât want to be alone tonight..â That girl who had vanished was the girl Felix had stared so longingly at. âHave you seen Felix yet? I think he knows the girl whoâs missing..â
