{ The Night Fury perked at his mention. This new stranger    was staring at him with the fervor that only newborn    hatchling humans did. Toothless’ nose twitched with a    sniff, eyes watching the new human with curiosity. His rider    chuckled besides him, gaining his attention with some    affectionate scratches behind his ear fins. }

   ❝ Who? Toothless here? Sure is. What? No one heard       of Night Furies back home? ❞

          Let it be known that Kamala Khan did not SCREAM at the           mere sight of an actual real life dragon.  Let alone to stand            in its ( his? her? ) presence!    Now, all she had to do was           continue through this entire exchange  without letting out a            shriek.   That was going to be the TRULY DIFFICULT part. 

                           ❛ Night Fury ——— ? Ah, no. The closest                                        thing   we   have    to    ( him? )   are   the                                       occasional                     over-sized lizards. ❜

     Maybe she was not even related to Carol.      Maybe she didn’t even have her permission      to be using her old code name.

          “Uh huh. And what do you do exactly?”

        Did he mean for a living?      Because that would be         kicking butt and taking names     ( well, she didn’t         actually take names but still ). Yeah, that’s probably         not what he meant. 

             “Maybe to… Gabe and Robbie Reyes? There’s not really               much news of you in LA, but we’re both pretty big fans.”

Of course, if Gabe was here instead of at orientation for his new school, he’d insist it be made out to one of three:

Robot Racer, Skeleton Driver,  or, obviously, Ghost Rider.

Ever since finding out his identity, he was only more insistent on them meeting other heroes.

                                It was then when she realized that she was at                                 a general loss for words  ( which wasn’t much                                 a surprise,     seeing that she was the one who                                 had dubbed the other “citizen” a moment ago );                                 what exactly was one supposed to say to a fan? 

                                                             “Nice to meet you”? “That’s really cool”?                                                              Maybe?          Maybe something like that.

        And a quick punch was thrown before the masked girl         continued               on her seemingly ENDLESS battle.

          This is it. Single greatest moment of her           life happening       right here, right now. 

                “ well, gee, i guess GUARDING THE GALAXY isn’t my official job. technically, my official job consists entirely of WAITING for my old man to kick the bucket. but i do the whole ‘guardian’ thing anyway, ‘cause someone’s got to, right? ”

     Carol did not tell him about this… Since when      does she have a protégée? At least she seemed       nice and friendly. Unlike Carol.

             “You are? I had not heard– no offense, I just–                They never told me there was a new Ms. Marvel.”

        THEY? Was there like some kid of superhero newsletter          that she was missing out on?   Because she’s not going          to lie,                                  that would be STUPENDOUS.
