Hello friends and good Morning! Early in June, I had the pleasure of receiving a facial from Miranda over at MJM Beauty located in Sola Salon and Spa! I received a dermaplaning facial and want to share about the experience and my results!

Up until my appointment with Miranda, I had limited knowledge about what dermaplaning was. I had never gotten this kind of a facial and didn’t personally know anyone who had! I did a little bit of research on what it would be like and what the results would be following my facial. Because they use a specialty tool to get ride of the dead skin and peach fuzz on your face, I was nervous. Would my peach fuzz grow back in black and course? What would happen to my skin? But after a google search and reading up on the procedure, I quickly learned that it grows back just as it was! I can personally confirm that. My peach fuzz has started to come back and it looks no different than before!

Dermplaning facials are incredible for your skin. Not only do they feel amazing, but they help with the removal of acne scars, diminish fine lines, gets rids of peach fuzz and dead skin, promotes smoother skin, and anyone can get a dermaplaning facial no matter your skin type. Facials like dermaplaning are important because they allow all of the products you use to penetrate deeper into your skin and work much better. I don’t know about you-but I don’t spend quite a bit of $$$ on my skincare products just to have them get trapped in my top layer of dead skin! This facial did absolute wonders for my skin and I am still reaping the benefits.

Now that you have a little bit of background, I want to walk you through what my appointment looked like! Miranda first started out by cleansing my face and getting al of the junk off of it. Next, she used some oils and massaged it all over my face and into my skin (it was amazing omg). Once my skin was cleansed and oiled up, she began the actual dermaplaning! She had two different tools she used to get the peach fuzz and dead skin off my face. This didn’t hurt AT ALL! I could definitely feel it but it was not painful in the slightest. Miranda was so gentle as she did this. She worked in small sections of my face and would “scrape” each area multiple times to ensure all of the dead skin and fuzz were removed. I was able to see all of this stuff that she pulled off my face and it was cool and gross at the same time. Once the dermaplaning was completely, she applied an enzyme mask to my face. While this mask was sitting, she gave me the bestttttt shoulder, arm, and hand massage. I was dying of happiness. She wiped off the enzyme mask and applied a cooling mask next which felt really great. Lastly, she finished me off by applying a serum all over my face.

I was literally GLOWING when I walked out of her salon that day, y’all! I’ve always been a firm believer in the power of a great esthetician and facial and this was just another example of why Miranda is top notch and dermplaning rocks. Its been about a month since I’ve gone to see her and my skin still feels great. My peach fuzz has started growing back (completely normal-I swear) but my skin is still looking great and feeling smooth.
