"Percy..." - Diggory Graves

My biggest dislike: I thought the planet variety was a little ass. Coruscant’s nice to see, Koboh and Jedha felt a tad similar (big arid place), then there’s just Moon Station you go to twice, an Ice Asteroid you go to once, then end game planet.

I know it’s definitely more content than FO but in that game it felt like you spent a similar amount of time on each planet whereas in JS you’re on Koboh for the majority of plot development.

My other dislike: The Villains

Actually all the villains were straight up fire (from 9th Sister to the final boss). My main issue is with Dagan and Rayvis.

A Jedi from the high republic era and a surviving Gen’Dai, teaming up with an army of soldiers and repurposed clone war droids from B1’s, to Droidekas, to Magnaguards??

Sign me the fuck up! A retro army during the Empiric rule? There’s so much to this!

But it feels like these big bads were thrown away so quickly. I was certain Rayvis would come back bc Gen’Dai can’t die unless all their cells are killed or else they’ll just regenerate

I feel like Cal should’ve pushed Rayvis into the moon’s mining laser for his warrior’s death. Like Durge (you might know him from the 2003 clones wars two parter cartoon) he was a Gen’Dai bounty hunter who was only killed when he was trapped in an escape pod and fired into a sun (in a comic not in that two parter)

As for Dagan (which should be spelt Daggan btw) I was shocked when he died. Bc there’s clearly more game to come and no villains to oppose us as the Empire had done nothing at this point. It kinda made the betrayal a bit obvious which leads me to my last complaint

The Betrayal: I was sus of Bode from the start but after the tutorial I let him off the hook. But they pulled a late game betrayal on us! Giving us a final act for the game and suddenly a new bad guy to fill the vacuum left after the end of the Bedlam Raiders.

The betrayal works… kinda. He wants what’s best for his daughter. Okay. He’s been working with the Empire who’s been housing them. Okay. Makes sense

My main issue with it is that Bode doesn’t care for the Empire at all. He leads Cal to deal with the Empire outpost he’s been kept at. But that just means… why does he bother betraying Cal at all?

The game makes it sound like Bode’s against sharing Tanalorr with the Jedha refugees when Cal suggests it, and so he’d rather rat out the gang to the Empire and have Tanalorr solely for him and his daughter? Surely they’d want a community there with them right? Why can’t he share an entire fucking planet with a few strangers? Maybe distrust that they’d be more obvious to the Empire but still

And the other thing that bothers is that Bode feels like one person when he meets Cal on the Nova Asteroid, calm and willing to explain his side of the story. But when you see him on Tanalorr he’s suddenly a writhing mad-to-fuck Sith who’s fine with force pushing his panicking daughter to the floor. The anger felt too out of nowhere

If it were up to me, I think Bode should still have been an Empire spy, but he comes clean after regretting his position when everyone’s celebrating on Jedha. Cordova and Cere could still have their moment with Vader, and the distrust and anger of Bode’s betrayal could still work. But in the end they’d sort their differences to deal with Daggan and/or Rayvis on Tanalorr but Bode would not survive the encounter

Last thoughts: Loved the new lightsaber stances! Loved Skoova’s story (kinda wish we had a fishing mini game but whatever the holo battle simulator’s pretty cool). I like how we keep all our power ups from FO. Pretty much all the new characters were likeable to some degree.

Final complaint: Some of the fighting tears were HORRIBLE! The double Frogs, the double Rancors, the triple Koboh apexes. I managed the Frogs on Jedi Master difficulty, but the Rancor and the trio I just got annoyed.

So I lowered the difficulty… to Story Mode
