My ship was blown off course, straight into a storm. The whole thing got wrecked! I guess calling it a ship is generous. It was a raft. I *just* managed to escape the last desert island, and yet here I am again. While it doesn’t seem as deserted as the last one I was stuck on, I think some of the madness from being alone for 6 years is still lingering in my brain cage. There are people here… but they appear to be a pig, whom calls herself Agnes, a cat that appears to be wearing underwear as some sort of helmet, fittingly calling himself Stinky, and then three tanuki- two small ones, pups I’d suppose. They’ve been referred to as raccoons already so I can only assume- but I feel as though I would recognize a tanuki. Or maybe not! I have been on that *other* deserted island for 6 years.

Regardless, it appeared as though they had come to this island willingly, and got me sorted with some clothes and a haircut. They did. Terrible. On my hair. I look like I did a handstand in a pothole and they just cut whatever was outside the asphalt. But I suppose they are animals, and there’s only so much one can do with scissors when all you are equipped with is paws and hooves. I am also questionably dressed, but one can only complain so much when the alternative option is appearing like a castaway.

The tanuki whom calls himself Nook instructed me to gather materials for a party. Wild. Our plane is gone and you want a party? Maybe this is normal. Where am I even?

Nonetheless I gathered some twigs and what appear to be oranges from the abundant trees. Deciduous, so we must be in a warmer climate. Hard to tell thanks to the snow on the ground… it’s a wonder I survived for long enough for Agnes to mutilate my hair.

They made a bonfire and orange juice drinks— of which they gave me none despite my valiant efforts to collect said oranges—and I opted to tuck in early. They gave me a tent and a cot, so I set up as far away from the base camp they made so I could get some peace and quiet. You’d really think 6 years in isolation would warm one up to the idea of being around other people, but I don’t think socialization works the same as exposure therapy, and I am still a little miffed about the haircut.
