Rowlet and the starter most likely to be in the ash team, can take the place of grass member or flying, lol

See there’s several evidence that helps and conflicts the argument if Ash getting Rowlet

He doesn’t have a grass type in XY, which is a first for him so when SM comes around they’ll have to make up for that.

But Ash also always catches the resident reigon bird (i assume for marketing) , and he possibly can’t do that if he also owns Rowlet

And before you argue that he could own two flying types, I don’t think they’d want an XY repeat where half his team was flying.

So it can go either way, I love Rowlet so I certainly wouldn’t mind if Ash got it, but I’d want him to own Litten because it’s so different for his character type. They could give him both, which I wouldn’t hate either. Just don’t give him all three because it always leads to disaster.

Also, another thing we have going against him getting Rowlet is he already had Noctowl, which isn’t a big problem… but still. It’s a notable owl. Especially if Rowlet’s final evo resembles Noctowl’s design.

Yeah, I think Litten would make for some interesting/cute interactions, especially in the beginning.

Not gonna lie, when I saw the new pokemon my mind went immediately to Popplio for Ash, but a slightly goofy water starter might be too reminiscent of Oshawott, and he has Greninja now. They most likely wouldn't do three water types in a row.
