NEW... In the Vintage Cabinet of Delights today, Choc Orange Fudge, liberally sprinkled with choc orange nibbs and made with the finest orange oils. Hmmmmmm, wonderful!

We often get asked if we can make "specials" and the answer is "yes, of course!" Yesterday we made this gorgeous blue and white vanilla flavour fudge for a baby shower. Here at #EllaRileys ANYTHING is possible! If you can imagine it, we can probably make it! Last week we made delicate poppies out of sherbet strawberries as cake toppers for some special cupcakes too. Special orders? We LOVE 'em!

#whoops! Any suggestions for names? Beach mix maybe?

A quick video I took earlier to explain how we, at ellarileysweets tiny though we are use the tricks of the larger retailers to our benefit. Multi Chanel retailing is where it's at baby! No matter how tiny you are, if you have access to the internet in your shop you can be a MCRetailer. So my advice on #IndependantsDay? Don't just sit there waiting for your customers to come to you...take your products to your customers at their convenience. Have a wonderful day folks and happy retailing x

We've been making a new fudge to go in our vintage cabinet of delights...this time it's a very summery lemon meringue fudge. Made with Sicilian lemon, fresh meringues and sugar coated lemon rind for that extra special zing! I love that we can just "make up" new confections and we really want to do more of this with the new production unit.

So...this is what BCBC think is acceptable practice on a trading day, we've got, without any notice at all, jack hammers, stihl saws and pick axes right outside the door! And this is after the supposed "regeneration" work has finished months ago. All without ANY form of compensation for loss of trade too. It's a joke trying to trade in #Bridgend Town Centre when the council are treating it like a constant building site!!

Wonderful news today. The results are back in from where Steven & I sat our level 3 food hygiene rating. We've both been awarded the highest possible award of a MERIT too! We're clearly delighted by this result as it just goes to show the outstanding food hygiene practises we adhere to here at Ella Riley's and just shows that the zero rating we were awarded by the council, shortly after we dared to complain about the roadworks they had implemented that had an adverse affect on our business (without any form of compensation it has to be said too) was nothing short of malicious. Clearly the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health thinks we are following good food hygiene practice as they awarded us the merit. Frankly I'll take their judgement over Bridgend Council's on the matter any day! ;-) I'd also like to say a massive thank you to Integrity Training on Nolton Street, who have supported us in our training for this award and frankly are superb! If you're looking to undertake any learning then these are the "go to" guys. A great company and we highly recommend them.

We have been looking at some more units, got appointments for viewing for some tomorrow, really need to find something suitable now so we can crack on with expanding and the #crowdfunding. On the plus side...I think we *may* have something suitable in the pipeline. ;-) watch this space.

Well things have gone a bit wibbly wobbly with the unit we were originally looking at so we've been looking at other options again and think we've found the right place... Now just to get the #crowdfunding show on the road and make this business dream a reality! In the meantime, my motivation to keep going when it's a bit of an uphill battle is when we get tweets like these. ^^^ :-D
