The problem with history.

“But I… hurt him with my power. What if I… do worse?”

“Hurt you? You really have to give a girl a few more details to work with. Why would you? You’re a strong woman who’s always in control right?”

“I don’t know, it’s just what I read.” She let out a little laugh. “Okay, it sounds funny and stupid like that.”

“Reading dusty old books won’t get you anywhere, you have to get out there and feel the magic... feel the power.”

She chewed on her lip. “But it was in a spell book. So… humans didn’t make it up. And I always thought the garlic thing was stupid.”

“But how could that possibly be true? Like how could be being poked make you less powerful. The magic killer sperm. It is stupid.”

“I don’t either… it’s weird, right?” She paused. “That… makes sense.”

“It’s definitely weird.” She rolled her eyes. “Humans have always made stuff like that up, you know vampires hate garlic or have no reflections. Werewolves can only turn on full moons.”

“Probably… a lot of those books are like really old. I guess it’s just… raw power or something.”

“I don’t know how a... man... up your thingy would effect your magic?” She laughed slightly. “I mean what happens, it goes up there and bam. Weak witch. Sounds like some lie made up by men to stop witches reproducing.”

“Pure… witches. Apparently they have great power… power people want.”

“How could not being a virgin make you a less powerful witch? That makes no sense. Was the book written like 200 years ago?”

“Maybe. I um… I… I read this book… and it said something about virgin witches…. and I’m…”

“Virgin... witches?” She asked, slightly confused.

“You’ll find someone better easily. Won’t remember him when there’s someone new.”

“I think I believe that. Because… I can’t stop thinking about him.”

“I know you do. I... well he’s in your head then isn’t he.”

“It weirdly feels that way already, though I haven’t known her long. Is it that easy?”

“Family are family, doesn’t matter. Why wouldn’t it be?”

“I don’t know who I can trust. I don’t. Maybe my sister… but I still don’t really know her. I… don’t even think I like him anymore.”

“You can count on family. Always. You don’t have to like anyone. Fuck him.”

“I don’t know, but i’ve lived in this world my whole life. And if there’s one thing I know... it’s be careful who you trust.”

“I… my anger made a storm and I couldn’t stop it at first… I… I’m not sure. But he took it… the energy into him.”

“Crazy. I’ve heard of witches doing that... as like a bad thing. Taking their powers for good. You’ve done magic since right?”

“It makes sense right? He does things to feel good about himself, just like everyone else does.”

“It’s called a hero complex and he has one.”
