I have mixed feelings about it, to be honest. I feel like eveything was so rushed and so many things that happened— in the season, I mean— were pretty avoidable and a tad unnecessary. Hayley definitely deserved more screentime, you know what I mean? And the fact that Hope is now an orphan at such a young age— at 16, mind you— makes me sad.

But overall I can’t help but feel happy, too, with how it ended. That Elijah right there— the one who would follow his brother through hell and back even if it meant leaving everything else behind— is the Elijah I’ve always loved. That is the Elijah I adore. And Niklaus— oh my gosh, Niklaus. His character development was so good! Truth be told, he was a selfish man at the beginning; he only thought about himself and he would kill, deceive, and whatnot to survive. And at the end of the series, there he was, laying down his life to save his daughter, to give her a chance at a normal life, a chance at happiness.

Although, regarding Rebekah’s choice to turn human, I felt it was unfair for Marcel— you know, because Rebekah will die one day and he’s just gonna keep going. But now that I think of it, it doesn’t really bother me that much, as long as my babies are happy.

It was… interesting. It’s sort of less exciting than The Vampire Diaries and The Originals but I like it and look forward to watching the show nonetheless :)
