"I Choose Insanity"

So…. This is long overdue, to be honest. But I’m officially putting all my RP blogs on hiatus until further notice. Reasons: my part-time job is taking all my damn time, and my writing muse just isn’t with any of these characters at the moment. It’s over on fanfic for the x-men movies, and, honestly, has been there instead of here for a good two months at this point. Add in the fact that my internet right now is devoted to downloading my digital copy of The Rogue Cut of Days of Future Past, which has started over twice, and yeah. I barely have the mindset to look at tumblr, let alone RP while trying to navigate the changes to reblogging they’ve made since the last time I actually did.

Forever deserved more than one season and now I need the show to continue more than ever. I mean, JO’S FAMILY, A FEMALE IMMORTAL, AN ENTIRE EP IN FLASHBACK AND LUCAS FINDING OUT.

and if you were wondering, the sections on breeding in Bettas and The Betta Handbook both are quite descriptive of Betta spawning.  and the bit of how you described it that i saw, about the male squeezing the female to death getting the eggs out?  yeah, wrong.  it looks like he’s squeezing her, yes, but that’s not how the eggs come out.  he ejects sperm and she ejects eggs and they do this simultaneously.  and afterwards, the female is temporarily paralyzed, at which time she should be removed from the tank, to a different tank, so that the male doesn’t kill her for being a threat to his children.

I never did claim to be an expert on bettas or any other fish. I was in fact relying on information from my mother, who used to keep bettas. She had done extensive reading on them herself when she first started keeping them(before I was even born, so well over 30 years ago), but knowledge about animals(and everything in general) is always being updated, so it’s entirely possible that what she read about them all those years ago is no longer accurate. This is not my fault or hers. If someone is wrong about something, maybe next time calmly tell them so and not blow up at them? I really don’t appreciate being attacked when all I had was good intentions. If my original post came off as anything other than someone who was genuinely concerned about your pets, then I apologize. I also apologize in advance if there is anything in this post that you find offensive, but I promise you that is not my intention.

also, you should be pleased to know that my campaign for a larger (and divided) tank has proved fruitful, and said tank is currently running for the required 24 hours before fish are introduced. and yes, the fish have been separated already, though they don’t seem pleased by that development.

Trepidation governed his movements, as his palm lowered to envelop the back of her hand, delicate fingers lacing hers with the utmost care; the pad of his thumb contenting itself to sweep gingerly along the length of hers. “ – Thank you, ”

“And thank you.  For trusting me.”

//if anyone’s still out there that cares, i just want to give you all an update. i was planning to be online last night - because i had two days off in a row, yesterday and today, and that meant i didn’t have to worry so much about being dog-tired this morning, but then i found some inspiration for the upcoming gremma appreciation week, and i had to jump on that because i’m running low on time and had nothing done. But looking at my schedule, there are days coming up when I should be able to get on and do some replies, as I’ll have time in the evening, hopefully not be too tired, and not have to be up too ridiculously early the next day. With those as my criteria for when I’m going to be online, tonight doesn’t qualify, but Friday might and Sunday definitely should.

But know that this regimen works best only if done with someone you find…very special.

“She’s two and a half.”

Terrified. Despite the fact she seemed to be handling his confession well, he couldn't help but wonder if trusting her so completely would only lead to more heartache; if she wasn't merely humouring him him for the moment being, because it was the dignified thing to do.. Should he be expecting to wake up and find a number of patrol cars and a special wagon awaiting him?? Modified shackles and ' caring ' hands just itching to take hold of him and toss him into padded confinement for his own good?? Would he go quietly into that abyss because he was in love with her? Perhaps even more so than he'd ever been with Nora?? Would she be there to watch as he was bound and sedated as if he were a wild animal?? The gentle weight of her hand against his knee, even if he was rather hesitant to acknowledge or reciprocate it, was every bit as comforting now as it had been when she'd taken his hand the evening he'd killed the young man Adam had offered as sacrifice before Christmas; momentarily soothing the rage and fear induced adrenaline that had threatened to consume him. Timid. His hand rested against his thigh for a number of moments, long fingers extending carefully to allow their tips to ghost cautiously along the length of her pinkie whilst contemplating covering her hand with with his own. Would she allow it?? Or would she pull away, because this was far too much too soon??

Instead, she does the only thing she can think, and repeats the words she has already said; “I’m staying.”

Slowly, she started walking towards where she was parked, making sure that he’d be able to keep up with her even towing along the bike.

“ —— !! ” Henry was both grateful a n d embarrassed as she tossed the towel and trousers his way, forsaking the warmth of the towel for the moment being to dart over to the passenger side of her car and duck down to dry his lower extremities. “ Just a moment!! ”

“ ———- ” The fact the two were related was news to Henry. News it would’ve helped him to have been made privied to, sooner, instead of being left to waste time grasping at straws; desperately attempting to figure out the means and motive, when she had them in the palm of her hand. “ The Brother-in-Law.. ” He began, shattering the thoughtful silence he’d slipped into a number of moments ago. “ What is his profession?? ” The knowledge that this particular poison existed was no longer commonplace, and hadn’t been for at least fifty years. It wasn’t an entity the government would allow to be explained in-depth in textbooks or be mentioned in ‘standard’ lists. Any information that m a y still be kept on it had to be classified. Unless he was a skilled hacker, or had friends in high places.. “ – I would have to know more about the alibis of our suspect and victim’s wife to answer that with even a shred of confidence. ”

“Other way around.  Victim’s sister is the suspect’s wife.”

IOAN I’M SCREAMING

“If we’re going to make it on time we should probably go, then.” A nod in the direction of his bicycle, a reminder to bring it along.  Don’t need Hanson or one of the others coming out and thinking that once to their knowledge has turned into a twice.
