Chapter One: The Girl Who Lived ... Twice
In his eyes, the redhead in front of him was pure danger. She had those deep brown eyes, challenging him. Saints, she was barely seventeen. So damn young and yet a possible treath. While wandering between his thoughts, Kaz noticed an interesting scar on her forehead, it reminded him a lighting thunder.
Harriet, that's her name, he noted to himself like he was going to use it in his favour. She asked, no, hissed: «What do you want? Why am I here?»
Kaz continued to stare at her, studied her movements and the way she was talking.
Her accent sound none of one he knew and her tone was quite sarcastic yet fierce. He knew one thing or two about fierce women.
«So, how did you destroyed that carriage just a moment ago? And you muted, literally, no lips anymore, that clerk? Are you, you know, ...» Jesper asked, his tone was questioning what kind of power she had.
She looked at Kaz, instead, like she knew who the leader was and spitted: «I have been here for thirteen months in Ketterdam and let me tell you: no, I am not a Grisha. I am not a Saint or whatever, for Merlin's sake, this is utterly ridiculous!». Kaz frowned upon her intercalation, leaving him many questions then answers.
«What are you then?» his tone was so cold that Kaz internally shivered.
Even so, she didn't flinch: «I am definitely not a Grisha. My kind of power does not manipulate matter or natural resources» Harriet smirked at him «well, fuck the Statute of Secrecy I am going to tell you. My power is not based on religion or science. It's within myself do you understand? It's like blood, it runs all over me» she became silent because his face must been scary «it was a nonverbal spell as we say from where I am from. It's a simple explosion charm, I did it because I was in danger, I swear, no one saw me. And for the clerk, I had to protect myself, somehow. I didn't want to leave witnesses. Well, just you two gentlemen saw me nevertheless, I suppose.»
Kaz pondered, thinking that she could make a really good Crow. «Actually, Pekka Rollins men saw you and let me tell you, it's quite unpleasant to be acknowledged by him or his sidekicks and the harm they could cause. They act in the darkness as much as we do».
«I can take the risk, sir» she looked directly into his eyes and said: «If you want to excuse me, darlings, I have a job serving tables downstairs and Nina is waiting for me».
«Not that quick, Harriet» Jesper blocked her way and then, the girl turned around. She bursted into a quite yet intense rage.
«What do you want, Bekker? My life, as anyone did for my entire existence? Or just blackmail me? Huh?» the fire in her eyes was a neverending flame. She has the same pain he had in his heart.
«No» Kaz was puzzled by this reaction, actually «I want your help. Can I have it?»
«Just that? Really?» Harriet scoffed, as if she was surprised of such kindness. «I know that you are a thief, and frankly speaking, I don't care. I am still angry on how you two treated me downstairs, but I'll help you. Mostly for the fact that you and your friends treated me kindly when I was lost on these streets and didn't even questioned my background. So, I'm in ... especially if you can guarantee me a protection since they most likely want me dead».
Kaz raised an eyebrow and after few seconds he said: «Deal».
«Deal» she then come closer to his ear and her voice was so soft yet bitter: «Remember this, Kaz Brekker, I am The Girl Who Lived Twice. I might look fragile. Just let you know, that, where I am from, they used to call me The Chosen One. I am unbreakable». She left, leaving him in a deep frustration and confusion.
Well, Harriet Potter, if that was her real name, was scarier half of him.
Yes, her joining their Club was a great idea, after all.
The air was chilling. Two figures approached. One of them was a really tall man; a curated beard on his face made Elphaba feel safe, and the stern look on his face was proof he was a trustworthy man.
"What's the matter, Miss Potter?" he asked, calmly.
"Professor McGonagall! We found this girl here in the forest. I think she fell from somewhere," the redhead answered frantically.
The tall man sighed and, with a stern look, stared at Elphaba.
"Do you know, Miss Potter, that will mean you and Mr Lovegood are losing points each for both of your respective Houses?" the older man said, looking at the redhead with a concerned stare.
The other figure spoke softly, like the wise woman she looked like.
She was so tall that Elphaba wondered if she was real.
"Do you understand our language?" she then asked, looking at Elphaba through her half-moon spectacles; her tone was full of genuine wonder.
"Yes, I do," she simply replied, without mentioning that it was the same language she heard the wizard speak often.
Elphaba studied the older woman. A purple pointy hat, strikingly similar to her black one, almost concealed her silver-grey hair. She wore a long, elegant lavender dress, ornated with golden swirls.
"Come with me, then; we can discuss how to proceed, right, Wodan?" she asked calmly, with a gentle smile on her wrinkled face.
The older man nodded, and Elphaba followed her, feeling safe for once in her life.
"May we come with you, Professor Dumbledore?" the redhead asked worriedly. Elphaba quickly realised that she wasn't worried that she was evil or that she wasn't trustworthy, but rather that she strangely cared for her. Was it pity? Maybe. She chose to believe it was indeed pity.
Professor Dumbledore pondered. "Yes, you may come, Miss Potter ... after all, your two best friends are at the beginning of the Forbidden Forest, waiting for you," she asserted. "Mr Lovegood, I suggest you go back to the castle with Professor McGonagall." The blonde boy absent-mindedly nodded.
This Forbidden Forest reminded Elphaba of some sort of Oz, way darker and more mysterious.
She heard a rustling coming from the leaves. An ominous male face looked at her like he knew something about her that he couldn't reveal. Just, not yet.
"My name is Hattie," the redhead asked, slightly cheerful. "What's yours?"
Elphaba, for a moment, was tempted to give a fake name, but she resisted the urge to mock her and spitted: "Elphaba"
Professor Dumbledore softly chuckled, and Elphaba wondered what the older woman actually knew.
The rest of the walk was left in silence.
"We're almost there," said Professor Dumbledore.
And then Elphaba saw a castle. It looked like the legendary one in Kiamo Ko, with little towers and the night calmly wrapping it with a sky filled with stars.
Elphaba wanted to believe she was safe.
She was about to find it out.
Plot: Elphaba finds a way to go out of Oz. A new universe unfolds.

CHAPTER ONE: OUT OF OZ. LITERALLY.
Elphaba was staring at the horizon. She felt free. Ostracised but free. The sky was particularly nice. Beautiful, even. She sighed and speeded. Finally free. Judgement felt like a sour candy.
Elphaba Thropp was weighing on her life up until that very moment.
Everything was useless. Trying to please everyone is counterproductive, she thought.
Tears coming out of her eyes were a reminder that her existence was unfair.
Someone is deceiving Ozians. The Wizard was a fraud. Suddenly, she hit something cold and hard. She opened her eyes, and in front of her, a wooden door. It was finely carved, with intricate flourishes.
There was a curious writing on the handle: Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.
Elphaba scoffed. Cute, she thought. Such optimism was remarkable; yet, she was disillusioned.
She opened the door slowly, and with a sharp slam, she was quaffed into a dark whirlwind.
Her life flashed through her eyes. Galinda was in her mind and saddened how she wasn't able to say her a proper 'goodbye' nor 'I love you'.
She landed on something ... earthy. Muddy even.
It was nighttime.
She was hearing two people talking. She came closer. Peeking through some huge roots, she saw a really tall, blonde boy and a really tall, red-haired girl.
"There's something over there," the boy said, and Elphaba froze. Running away could go wrong, so she waited.
"Luan, I come with you." The girl's tone was firm.
Elphaba heard their footsteps approaching quickly, twigs creaking underneath. Again she closed her eyes, expecting the worst.
"Oh, hi, sweet person," he greeted her cheerfully. She carefully opened her eyes and startled.
"Don't be afraid," the red-haired girl greeted. "Should we take her to the castle? Maybe Dumbledore could help her."
Castle? Dumbledore? That sounded suspicious.
"Who are you two?" Elphaba finally asked.
The red-haired girl now faced her. Her face was seriously damaged. Slashed. Disfigured. A thunder-like scar was occupying half of her face. Was she cursed?
Apparently, both of them were unfazed by her skin colour. That made her feel more comfortable.
"We come in peace. We are a witch and a wizard," she pointed to herself and the other boy, who was nodding.
She was offended. It was a joke. They were posers for sure.
"Yeah, like The Wizard," she scoffed.
"The Wizard?" asked Luan, perplexed.
"Luan, please, go to the castle and bring here Dumbledore. And bring here Hermes and Ronnie. Professor McGonagall. We'll wait here for you all." The girl's voice was calm, and the boy, even if unsure, headed north.
When he was away, the red-haired girl sat down and sighed.
"So, we will wait," she smiled. "What's your name?"
"I don't trust you enough to share my name with you," she replied warily.
"And that's ok," she conceded with a smile.
"Do you really have magic?" tried asking Elphaba.
"Yes, I do," the other girl replied.
"Prove it," Elphaba hissed.
The younger one took out a stick out of a pocket, but Elphaba said, "Without tricks."
"I cannot do it with my bare hands yet." For the first time, the girl sounded offended. "But I'll try it."
She was concentrated. She lifted her hands, and swishing, the girl yelled, "Wingardium Leviosa!" and some rocks began to levitate. "Is it enough to prove it?" she grunted.
"Yes, I think that's enough," Elphaba whispered, amazed.
Then some figures approached them.

Summary:
Peter B. Parker has a normal life and a job in a very forgettable scientific corporation. Dealing with grief, anxiety, skepticism and a very much huge identity crisis, he tries to navigate what he is through some weird people who claim to be Spider-Man as well.
His most important question, however, is how a pig has the spider-sense.
chapter 1: stay with me
Peter Benjamin Parker was fed up.
Gwen was dead, his Uncle too and meeting two other variants of himself and then saying goodbye to them too was pretty damn hard, they were like brothers to him now.
He was fed up loosing people he cared about. Since he came back to his universe, he tried to find his MJ. Until now, he didn't find anyone. No Michelles, no Mary Janes. So life went on, kept working for the same old laboratory. Days, months went on until the chief manager said someone would join them as a new colleague, someone called Marius Watson.
Peter frozed instantly but then he thought: MJ should be a woman, right?
Another month passed by and his bosses said that on a Friday 17th this Marius was starting his internship. The day finally came. Peter went to work early and he saw a very tall, redheaded man in the hall, the brunette wondered if it was his first day, since he looked lost.
«May I give you some help?» Peter asked politely.
«Ah, yes, I cannot find the right directions for the third floor» the boy voice sounded a bit anxious and relieved at the same time.
Peter smiled, the boy was cute: «You're lucky, that's my way as well» and silence followed him throughout the corridors. As they arrived on time, the chief manager exclaimed: «Oh, here you are Marius!»
Peter turned around, in disbelief. Is he THE Marius Watson?
While thinking that was not possible that his MJ was a male person, he went on his assigned place, sweating and fearing himself.
The chief manager claimed their attention and the shy boy introduced himself.
«He's Marius, everyone» the manager said confidentially. Everyone started to clap and shouting ‘welcome’.
«Actually, I prefer MJ, if it's not a problem, sir» the younger boy corrected.
«Not a problem by me, kid» the manager agreed. «Peter will be your mentor» he pointed to the brunette man.
That was so hard to process for Peter. He didn't exactly knew what very-old-Peter-MJ was supposed to look like but if it was deep red hair and shining green eyes, well, he was screwed big time.
«Hi, I'm MJ» the younger one greeted.
Peter in that instant decided to be the asshole so he could distance himself and don't get attached. «Yeah, that's what I heard».
«Oh» MJ didn't hide his disappointment.
«We better work» said Peter, harshly. «We aren't here to exchange pleasantries».
And they continued to work. Peter felt MJ gaze on him, and he was tempted to talk with the redhead. He stayed silent, clearly not on the verge of whispering to him “hey, you're the love of my life” because it would be definitely be weird and embarrassing.
When everyone finished, Peter was about to go when another colleague invited all of them to eat at the Domino's on the other side of the road. He said: «No, another time».
He stole a quick glance of MJ: handsome, so damn delicate and just now Peter noticed a constellation of freckles above his cute botton nose. MJ green eyes were angry and venomous. He had every reason to be pissed, especially with the silent treatment Peter gave him during the working hours.

He went home, prepared some instant noodles and decided to watch Rebel Without A Cause.
His apartment was in a filthy, depressed state with plates still in the sink from a month ago.
He moved to Brooklyn when he secured his job at that big chemical engineering corporation. Peter begged his Aunt May to live at least closer to her, but the elder woman strongly refused.
“I lived all my married life here, Pete. I want Ben to stay with me ‘till the end.” she said, one day, over the phone. “It’s now time for you to build your own nest, darling.”
His love life lately was 404 Error Pete Not Found.
Without even noticing, he fell asleep in the middle of the movie, thinking about Aunt May and his miserable life. He woke when someone shook him yelling: «Wake up, Peter, wake the fuck up».
Numbed by the sleep, glimpsed someone dressed like Spider-Man but the colors didn't really match. White, black and pink.
This Spider-Person took of their mask and what he saw was the exact replica of Gwen. Am I allucinating?
He did something he later regretted: he woke up abruptly and hugged her tightly.
«Where have you been? The last thing I remember was ...»
The girl interrupted him saying: «Me dying? Of course. In every dimension I die. I'm not your Gwen Stacy, so could you please keep your hands away? It's uncomfortable, you know, you're twice my age.»
«Who are you then?» he said, abruptly going far away from this Not-Gwen.
«Gwen Stacy» she said but then added something more specific, seeing his disbelief and teary eyes: «From another dimension, Earth-65.» She began to moving around, searching for something «I'm looking for Miles Morales, did you by any chance saw him?» her tone was sweet, almost ... in love?
He studied this girl claiming to be Gwen and how different she was indeed from his Gwendolyne. Besides being an obvious younger version and carbon copy of his dead girlfriend, her style was indeed way different. She had an undercut hairstyle on the right part of her head, on the left her hair strands were magenta and obviously she was dressed as Spider-Man-Like outfit.
«So, did you saw him or not?» Not-Gwen tone was extremely impatient.
«But who is this Miles?» he asked, vehemently.
«He's his universe ...» but then she was interrupted by a ... pig? A Looney Tunes kind of pig, very cartooney, old styled Golden Age of Cartoon type of pig dressed in a Spider-Man suit.
«It's nice to chat with people Gwen, but I'll tell ya we didn't find him anywhere near in this Earth» this creature blurted out. «Who is this man?» asked the pig, wary.
«I'm Peter B. Parker» he said, sighing.
«Another Peter B.? Not gonna lie, this multiverse madness is atrocious.»
«Woah, woah, woah» Peter began to be pissed, to a certain extent. «So you are telling me that there are more other me and other Spider Things?»
«Hey, watch your language, human. I might be a pig but not stupid at all.» he then quickly switched subject and eyed Not-Gwen: «I am going to note Noir. He's strolling the streets like he's on dead or alive public matter, my sister in Christ, he's that dramatic. Is he going with us?» he then asked, pointing to him.
«No» Peter harshly replied.
The pig stepped in front of him, looking from below: «You sure are fun at parties.»
«I don't do parties anymore» Peter narrowed his eyes.
«Oh, I bet.» Peter then turned around to Not-Gwen and said. «Let’s go elsewhere. Miles is not here.»
Not-Gwen stayed silent for about two seconds and then seriously asked: «Why don't you come with us?»
«I don't know who is this Miles Morales guy, to be honest and I don't trust you both.»
«Please.» Gwen glared at him, her eyes full of determination.
Peter thought about it quickly and he snapped, annoyed: «Yes. Yes, YES! Ok.»
Not-Gwen smiled lightly, put her mask on and went outside, as if she was making a way for Peter.
The last thing Peter thought, before being in his Spider-Man suit, was: Fine, we're all going to die.

Manuel was rude, unapologetic and come off as rude when he spoke his mind, which was quite often.
while Simone tried his best to be polite towards him and forgive him the best he could, his mind raced wild at that one time Manuel called him the ‘f-word’.
it hurt so bad that for a solid month contemplated to move with his mom in Scotland.
at the time, Simone was understandably mad at everyone, including himself, mainly for the fact that he wasn't true to himself.
he kept telling to himself that he could “fake it until he made it” but it was like a dog trying to bite his tail and honestly no, it didn't work.
but Manuel was so damn handsome. and attractive.
Simone liked the idea of the curly haired boy studying for compensate his bad grades and pass the exams to be admitted to the next year.

“i’m at the beach, in Olbia” replied Manuel and Simone could swear that he heard a somewhat longing in his voice. “Right now, I'm studying Math. Christ, I hate having a slipped subject every year. I can't enjoy summer”
“Can I help you?” asked Simone without thinking and then he slapped himself mentally.
silence.
after a while, Manuel spoke and it was like a shotgun.
“No. Thanks for the thought but no. We cannot do this again. Now I have to go, bye.”

Simone began ugly crying.

Actually, he wanted to be closer to this boy for he had mixed, conflicting feelings. They were both under the starry sky of the Roman countryside, smoking cigarettes and talking about whether they were respecting "The Moral Law".
"Who cares about the Moral Law!" replied Simone, with a strained giggle.
Because his mind was travelling in unknown worlds, uncharted lands of his inner "ego", a world he was considering imperfect and sinful.
The idea of imperfection was the thing that wore him down the most, it crushed him against an imaginary wall and he would rather have fallen in love with a girl and lived a perfect life. Except there's a saying, 'not all donuts come out with a hole' and they're usually the best ones, aren't they, Simone?

Simone had tried to kiss Manuel when they went out with the class to the Museum of Natural Sciences. Perhaps he had been too impulsive, too used to the heteronormative male-female dynamics. What burned inside was not so much the rejection or the fact that Manuel had shied away in disgust from him. What burned inside, in fact, was the coldness and detachment with which the boy he loved was treating him.
Manuel looked at Simone with a gaze mixed with disgust and as if Simone Balestra was a monster, a predator, a wild beast to be feared.
And yet, the tall boy still felt like Simone Balestra, a person who liked rugby, reading, studying and listening to music. A person ... certainly not a beast to be treated differently. As if from day to night, he had become dangerous, to be avoided. Of course, he had made a mistake and misinterpreted his father's advice, but the fact was that Manuel treated him like a plague, with a cutting iciness in his eyes.
As if the Snow Queen had stripped Manuel of his humanity with an imaginary snowflake.

Simone has something in his chest that hurts so much. It's almost like a pain. He can't place this emotion into a category, it begun in the first months of school, when he saw Manuel, the new classmate, who was repeating eighth grade for the second time.
This pain was so strong that anaesthetised him, blinded him towards the boy, pandered to him and pissed off at him, fighting him up just to get rid of this crying sensation.
And yet, he couldn't take his eyes off him, analysing every slightest movement, capturing his lips with his gaze.
The pain was excruciating.
Actually, it was much better when Manuel wasn't there last year, when he hadn't come into his life and when Simone was with Laura, pretending to be happy and not feeling anything.
Yeah, it was much better than feeling.

Simone has managed to give a name to his pain and it scares the shit out of him.
He managed to categorise everything he felt in those months, all those conflicting feelings under the word 'love'.
It scares the hell out of him because he has fallen in love with a person who shares the same sexual gender as him and he knows what society is like in Italy. It's a traditionalist place, it has a mentality that is so, so old and a place where it uses his feelings as an insult to make people feel weak.
It's exhausting to feel everything that he feels and he's afraid, he's afraid that Manuel won't understand, that he'll throw a punch in his face and mock him with the word "faggot".
He tells that to Laura and she strangely understands him, for the first time he feels safe and with an extra friend.
