Greater Vampire headcanons

So I had thought of various important things during work and came to conclusions about how Greater Vampires perceive their human partner. This might of course apply to every vampire that is old enough, but none of the lesser vampires had reached the age yet that would make their view on mortality and relationships stray far from what they believed as humans.
Pros, also why a Greater Vampire makes a great partner:
emotional engagement - not right away, but as soon as they get past the distance theyāve set between themselves and such short-lived creatures, the awareness of the fragility of mortal life makes their feelings intense. Very intense.
which means that you donāt ever need to worry about them not giving you attention. Youāll get a lot of attention. They know you donāt have much time so theyād want to spend every minute with you.
they really want to make your short life the richest and happiest, so expect to be spoiled rotten.
adapting - theyāve lived for centuries and seen a lot in their lives, so the world is changing much faster for them due to their longer lifespan. It forced the flexibility, so no worries about your lifestyle interfering with theirs.
which also means they have better insight into their own feelings since they know themselves quite well. So no unnecessary drama. Well, probably.
anyway, theyāre well aware ofĀ how relationships work, and that things need adjustment and negotiation, especially after the initial fire calms down, and theyāre willing to work on that. So hardships are not as hard to overcome. Theyāre prepared.
also quite stoic about many issues that can bring hardships because little things donāt really matter that much. Most issues are either adjustable or negotiable. Your life is too short to pointlessly argue about small things.
never bored with you, so you donāt have to try things youāre not comfortable with or go out of your comfort zone. Even if youāre slow to change, for someone who lives for centuries this is still a whirlwind and they will not rush you.
supportive - if you want to try something out, see something, learn something, theyāll definitely enable that without toning you down. You deserve to live your life to the fullest, and theyāre going to make it possible.
that applies to sex life as well. Theyāve seen a lot, tried out a lot themselves, and are probably quite chill about sex and not going to judge you. Even if your kink is a hard no for them, they wonāt let you feel ashamed.
Cons, also why a Greater Vampire might not be the greater partner:
they might dismiss your concerns due to the perspective of a much longer life, even if they donāt mean to invalidate your feelings. They just cannot tune to them. Or worse, it seems cute to them that youāre bothered by something like that.
and you know that it might seem silly to them, so you bottle it up until a breaking point.
due to their perspective they might have difficultiesā¦ to avoid patronising you. They would often think that they know better what you need and end up pushing their decisions and views onto you.
if youāre putting them through a whirlwind because of your perception of time and restlessness, theyād suck it up and ignore that theyāre tired or overwhelmed because theyād feel that getting me-time would be a waste of the time you have so little of.
your life is too short to waste time for arguments. Which means no issue gets actually solved.
which might seem harmonious at first but the more the gap grows, the more phony the relationship becomes if they refuse to talk things out and nod instead.
overprotectiveness. Letās be frank, theyāre functionally unkillable and you can be killed by pretty much anything dedicated and persistent enough. They donāt mean it, but their concern might make you feel guilty about going out.
constant attention might get tiring. Getting some me-time isnāt easy when your lover is so desperate to spend his time with you and you just want some time for yourself, but donāt want to turn him down.
in the end the relationship might slide into sheltering and unbalanced if itās not worked upon.
