Nature of Mind - Alex Grey Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā 1996, seven oil paintings on wood with sculpted gold leaf frame, 78 x 68 in.
āOne morning, a series of seven visions flashed into my mind. As soon as I drew one image, another replaced it until I had drawn a complex seven-stage journey of a wanderer discovering the spiritual path, having an introduction to his own true nature, embodying that truth, and reentering society.
I spent the next year painting each scene and sculpted an unusual frame to hold the paintings. As I was working on the painting, a poem related to each panel came through me. The finished altarpiece, Nature of Mind, is my homage to the artists and wisdom masters of Tibet. The Tibetan Buddhist teachings known as Dzogchen were the inspiration for these visions.
In Dzogchen texts various symbols distinguish between the conceptual dualistic āmindā and the self-liberated, non dual ānature of mindā. The thoughts of the dualistic judging mind are symbolized as clouds that arise and dissolve in the open vastness of the skylike nature of mind. The mirror is also a potent tool for illustrating this distinction. The mirror reflects all things, beautiful or horrible, and the dualistic mind gets caught up in the reflections, judging what it likes and dislikes, becoming emotionally charged about relatively inconsequential matters. The Dzogchen teachings advise us not to identify with the passing reflections but to recognize that our true nature of mind is the mirrorās infinite capacity for reflection.ā

If youāre going to while away the years, itās far better to live them with clear goals and fully alive than in a fog, and I believe running helps you to do that. Exerting yourself to the fullest within your individual limits: thatās the essence of running, and a metaphor for life. I believe many runners would agree.

I am currently reading this book by Fred Alen Wolf called The Yoga Of Time Travel- How the Mind Can Defeat Time. Some of you might know this about me already, but Iāve been obsessed with the idea of time travel (more so time bending) since I had an experience two years ago where I saw and felt time slow down and reverse on slow motion during an lsd trip. Iām also into parallel universes and entertaining the idea of the Mandela theory as during that same experience I felt myself fall to the ground and my consciousness was hovering over my body, but the next thing I know I was sitting cross-legged meditating. Since then I have gone in my own wild goose chase to understand the things I experienced that night two years ago. My quest lead me to this book where Alan describes the correlations between physics and the possibility of mental time travel. Iām only about 65 pages in, but I am already hooked on his theories as he ties together knowledge of psychic phenomena that Iāve had and couldnāt ever explain; for example dreams that have come true, remembering the future & lucid dreams. Needless to say that although I havenāt finished this book yet, I am going to recommend it to anyone who is interested in exploring the deeper relationship we have with time than we are currently aware of. Time is nonlinear which means that if you can access a memory of the past, you can access a memory of the future as well. What does this mean for me? Well it verified some mystical experienced that I was at odds with due to the fact that I could not understand them or define them with words, without sounding too āout thereā(which is where I like to play most of the time anyways), but was unable to contextualize and ābring backā vital information that could be distilled into knowledge. Anyways, as usual this book has fallen into my hands at just the right time in my life where I am able to process the events that transpired from a neutral places of observations and really understand the undercurrents of time that are influencing our lives whether we are aware of it or not⦠My question now is; what happens when it becomes second nature to remember the future?

A Conscious Union ā The Ultimate Relationship
In the past year I have endlessly blogged and chatted to radio hosts about the intricacies of intimate relationships from communication styles to self observation, with unending awe as I explore the certain mysteries of love and how it affects us all. There are heaps of experts and books out there written by amazing people way more qualified than me about the psychology and technical workings of relationships, but it is my calling to offer you help in this wonderland of life, so it got me wondering, as Grace had named my business Conscious Union, just what is a Conscious Union?
What has been emerging, as Conscious Union earns her place in the āNew Earthā jigsaw, is a honing and fine tuning of ingredients that go to make up a conscious relationship and how it is the closest thing to āhappily ever afterā that we will ever see within our existing DNA structure! So let me take you on a journey around a conscious relationship. If you are in one already then I don my hat to you and say well doneā¦you are helping to pioneer the new relationship paradigm for future generations who understand the meaning of authentic love. If you are in a relationship but wonder if it sizes up then read on. If you are single, this will give you the goal posts within which to aim high for your next relationship!
