I have completely surrendered to the process with this one. I only have a vague idea of what I am painting here, most of the decision making is done by hands. Curious to see how it evolves.

I left a corporate career for this.I worked as a handbag designer in Manhattan. Painting was always calling me, but I held back, thinking I couldn’t yet allow myself that luxury. Eventually, the calling won. Not the safest decision. But the right one for me.

Time, hands, and intention.

I don't think you need a grand theory to be an artist. I think you need to keep noticing things. The rest takes care of Itself.

I spent years making bags to order. Sometimes several dozen hours per piece. Hands learn things that the mind forgets.

There is a moment somewhere between the first brush stroke and the last, where a painting stops being effort and starts being itself.
