on tv people are always getting called by professional titles instead of names eg captain doctor detective what have you. wish this happened more in real life in general for your average person. I would like to simply be addressed by the element of my life that is relevant to the current situation, I mostly do not want people to know or use my name. hello patient, the doctor will see you now. dear applicant we are sorry to say that we think your resume is terrible and we hope you crumble into unseeing dust forever, goodbye. you there, shopper, please stop hiding under the clothing racks and leaping out to bite people. and so forth
Being a crafty person and making a bunch of things often prompts people to ask "oh wow did you make that?" And like, the short answer is: yes I did, but the long answer is: well, no, the pattern isn't mine, but I did choose and buy the fabric/yarn and sewed it together/crocheted it/knitted it myself. I used a reference for that drawing/painting, I didn't come up with it myself. That ceramic piece was insired by a poem and a painting made by different people. What I'm trying to say is, everything I make requires other people to make their own thing first, and then I get inspired by them to do my own thing. So I can't really call anything truly mine, because really it's just a bunch of inspirations and experiences of others (and me) put together by my hands. Does that answer your question
When you learn how to crochet/ knit or really any type of fiber arts, there will be a voice in your head that tells you that you should make something for everyone for the holidays.
Do not listen to that voice, for it is the devil.
This is a reminder for those who handmake Christmas presents that now is not too early to start. It may in fact be a good time to start if you have a lot to make/your craft takes a long time. You should maybe start it now, whether that's brainstorming or actually doing the crafts!

“My crime was feeling everything too deeply, my punishment was surviving it.”
— Fyodor Dostoevsky
This is genuinely one of the most vile posts I've ever seen on here.
The idea that transmascs (or any marginalized person, really) are excited about the idea of getting to be "higher" on the social ladder than someone else. This is just plain bigotry with literally no basis in reality.
This post already has hundreds of uncrtical reblogs. Knowing that, at minimum, hundreds of people think this of transmascs makes me sick to my stomach. When history looks back on your hatred I will not be forgiving any of you.
adding: notice that the entire comic takes place inside a trans man’s imagined head. the smug thought bubble isn’t a quote, isn’t a screenshot, isn’t a paraphrase of anything anyone said. someone sat down and wrote the worst possible interiority for a transmasc and then drew a face to match it. i’ve been on this site a long time. i have not seen one trans man talk about trans women like this. not one. if this attitude is common enough to make comics about, receipts should be easy. there are none in this post because the evidence is the artist’s imagination. there’s a word for attributing your own hierarchy-brain to a group that hasn’t shown it, and it’s projection.
hey so if you hate trans men specifically because they TRANSITIONED into a MAN, that is not cool and feminist that is transphobic. Hating somebody specifically because they transitioned is weird. You wouldn't hate those same trans men if they detransitioned/had never transitioned and that is transphobic.
tumblr "feminism" is great because it'll have people saying stuff like "hate targeted at trans men isnt transphobia"
The Tattoo Post™️ is so revealing of the current state of trans discourse online. Really it’s quite a fascinating case study. Right from the jump we have the weirdly paternalistic framing that trans men should run tattoo ideas by their friends, insinuating that trans men innately have poor judgment. By singling out trans men as a demographic rather than just advising people get feedback on their tattoo ideas or stating that they think the tattoo in question is bad, OP implies that it is trans men specifically and no other demographic that deserve to be held to this level of scrutiny. And even if you stripped the weird gender wars bullshit away from the whole thing, there remains the fact that putting a stranger on blast over an innocuous tattoo is deeply weird and uhhh bullying? Just straight up middle school bully behavior? What the hell is wrong with you?
Anyway here are my favorite notes
Exhibit A: The very feminist take that people socially/medically/legally classed as female aren’t oppressed on the basis of being socially/medically/legally classed as female.
Exhibit B: Seeing a non-sexual image of a trans man and immediately thinking about him bottoming. Because sexually objectifying random people for no reason is, again, very feminist. 🙄
Exhibi— okay I don’t have anything to say, I’m just enamored by this one. What does it even mean. What if a cis guy was a trans guy. What if the world was made of pudding. What if words meant nothing.

i wasn’t gonna get involved with the whole “trans man gets a tattoo of a uterus on his back” discourse because i think it’s the stupidest thing i’ve ever heard but nearly every post i’ve seen about it has either been “trans men are too obsessed with their agab” on one side or “trans men are allowed to feel connected to their agab” on the other side and i’m just wondering if we all missed the part of the tattoo where it’s very clearly a depiction of being imprisoned by that particular body part, and given the state of both trans rights and reproductive rights right now can anyone maybe possibly figure out why a trans man might feel like that and want to express that?
like i really don’t think this is some giant conspiratorial secret TERF psy-op or whatever the fuck i think a random trans man that no one here will ever meet in their daily life got a tattoo of a body part that he possesses and has strong feelings about and trying to turn this into some kind of commentary on trans men as a whole and why we’re all actually agab-obsessed TERFs is genuinely crazy behaviour. you NEED to go outside and get a hobby I’m being so serious.
adding to this because the part that’s sending me: some of the same people in this discourse have spent what feels like years on this site saying trans healthcare is basically a tattoo. elective. cosmetic. “if you regret it that sucks for you but it’s not our problem.” body modification you chose, consequences you own, nobody owes you sympathy or coverage. okay. so by your own framework this man got a tattoo. of a body part he has. on his own back. with his own money. and suddenly it’s everyone’s business and requires community-wide analysis of whether he’s allowed to feel what it expresses? you cannot spend years going “transition is just a tattoo, we don’t care” and then care THIS much about a literal tattoo. pick a lane. what’s next, asking him to detattoo? the man has a back. he put art on it.
The idea that trans men gain privilege by transitioning is absurd. You can not queer your way into privilege thats not how anything works

"If there is a book that you want to read, but it hasn't been written yet, you must be the one to write it." —Toni Morrison
“It feels like dying without you, so I had to come over.”
For a moment, I felt the distance, the suffocation, the anxiety, and the pain finally dissolved when you said the words my ears had been longing to hear. But in the very next instant, I woke with a cold sweat, tear-soaked eyes, a numb body, and a heart pounding so violently, refusing to settle.
I looked around. You were nowhere to be found. The room was dark and silent, yet I remembered you being there so vividly that I could not bring myself to believe it had all been a dream.
I reached for my phone, gripping it so tightly that my knuckles turned white. A tear slipped down my cheek as I clung to the smallest hope that perhaps it hadn’t been a dream. Maybe you had called. Maybe you had texted. Maybe you were on your way.
But all that greeted me was a blank screen, carrying no sign of your arrival, only another day of learning how insignificant I had become the moment I asked you to speak up for me.
With every passing moment, I have come to understand that some promises weigh heavier than others. You simply chose which ones to keep, and I was never one of them.
The promises you made, to stay with me, to love me, to never leave me, to make sure I never cried, vanished into thin air the moment you chose to make your absence the only promise you faithfully kept.
You could never keep your promises of love, yet somehow you have kept your promise of leaving with unwavering consistency.
Do not think that, with every passing day, my heart grows fonder because of your absence. It doesn’t. It grows numb.
I pretend to call you and leave voice notes in my recordings that will never be heard. I pretend to text you, only to write those messages into the pages of my diary instead. I pretend you’re lying beside me so I can close my eyes and fall asleep again, if only for a little while.
But one day I will wake up to the realization that it was always me who came running back to you. I was the one who broke my own promises of walking away. I was the one who waited for hours outside your workplace, not because I had nothing better to do, but because I wanted you to know that I was there, not through empty words, but through my presence.
The moment I stopped carrying this relationship on my shoulders, it collapsed under the weight of yours. That was the day I realized it had never been held together by the love of two people.
I love you. But I cannot love the distance between your words and your actions. I cannot love a man who never knew which promises were sacred enough to keep, nor one for whom loving his woman for a lifetime was never worth running back for.
So for now, I will try to wake each morning and make peace with the reality that you are never coming back.
Still, there is a birthday card in my hands, one I might never get to give you, reminding me that what was meant to be our first birthday together quietly became our last.
