Listening to The Music's 2002 eponymous debut album today. It is an absolute belter of a record from start to finish. The Music were obscure Leeds-based band with just 3 albums and the worst search engine optimisation of all time (but that just makes them all the cooler). They split up in 2011. Gutted I'll never see them live.

A friend has asked me to score a short film they directed.

So I'm listening to The B52's properly for the first time and until now I didn't realise a band could have influenced me without me even having listened to them. Vibes so incredible they're going back in time and dancing around me of 5 years ago's head as I started trying to write my own music.

I'm doing another open mic on Wednesday next week. This time I thought I'd do something a bit different and play my bass.

Fuck it. Balls to Picasso upon thee. The album where Bruce Dickinson does a rap verse. Is it a good rap? No! Is the album good? I think so.

As it's pride month, I'm sharing another song of mine that can be interpreted has having something of a trans undertone... It's the story of someone who never learnt how to smile.
