Oh look, it's Leon S. Kennedy! Haven’t even touched RE9 yet, but I'm already on the hype train. And yes, this is about feeding the children and quenching the thirst. Priorities. But also - Leon has been in my life for, what, 20+ years at this point? So it’s honestly bizarre that this is the first time I’ve actually drawn him. Long overdue. And while I’m here drawing fictional government agents, the real world is speedrunning its descent into something genuinely terrifying. I can’t stop thinking about how much of this could have been avoided if "civilised" countries had responded properly to russian aggression in 2022. Or in 2014. Or in 2008, when Georgia was attacked. Or at literally any point where stopping it would have meant not emboldening evil. Instead, the worst people on earth feel safe enough to form their little axis of terror, while the US is led by a deranged freak who loves those dictators, aspires to be just like them. And for us, with everything escalating elsewhere, attention will drift. Aid will likely shrink and russia will earn even more from oil, and that money will be poured straight back into missiles and drones aimed at peaceful people in Ukraine, who only ever just wanted to choose their own future. We’re still here. Please don’t forget that.

Alright… I have to talk about the awful stuff again. I don’t know if anyone even still reads these, but I can’t just stay silent. As I’m posting this, electricity in my building has been restored after a massive blackout across Ukraine caused by constant genocidal attacks by russia. The energy grid of nearly the entire country went down, less than 30% of Kyiv currently has electricity. I still have no heating and no running water. Blackouts also hit neighbouring Moldova.

Nighttime temperatures are about to drop as low as −24 °C, and unless everything is somehow restored, people will be freezing to death in their own homes. Please don’t ignore this catastrophe. Nobody seems to care what’s happening here anymore, while these monsters are trying to turn our reality into hell on earth, with no basic necessities available to millions of people. Please don’t stay silent. ____________

I wanted to post this on my birthday (January 24th), but after another russian genocidal attack on our energy sector - aimed at freezing Ukrainian civilians in cold darkness - I instead spent my birthday, and the day after, without any electricity or heating. Nighttime temperatures drop far below zero here, this winter is also abnormally cold, even for Ukraine. My electricity has since been partially restored, but there is still no heating in my building. This is also why I barely managed to share just two messy portraits over the entire month of January, despite having plenty of elaborate WIPs nearly complete. There simply hasn’t been an opportunity to finish them. I just want someone to read this and know what is happening here, because this humanitarian disaster somehow isn’t considered relevant enough to reach most news outlets outside my country.

I honestly feel devastated. It’s clear that we’re severely lacking air defence capabilities. I keep hearing that our “allies” are delaying shipments, so our guys don’t have enough to intercept these missiles. Only ~20% of Kyiv has electricity at this moment, after last night’s attack. I don’t want to freeze to death. There are reports of another attack being prepared as we speak, using strategic aviation. Many homes have been without heating for days. People in high-rise buildings can’t use elevators and have no running water.

I wasn’t able to complete a single artwork in the first two weeks of 2026 - this simply feels like a waste of life. Every time I get electricity, I spend it on basic survival: cooking hot food, charging devices, not drawing, not working. I’ve been robbed of opportunities for four damned years. Everything feels pointless.

I don’t know if we’ll be able to withstand this. Those monsters are throwing everything at us - hundreds of murderous drones, ballistics, cruise missiles. Unable to break Ukrainians even with daily bombings, they’re counting on another humanitarian disaster - just freezing people in their own homes.

Please don’t stay silent. Please don’t ignore this. Ukraine is not a “trendy” topic anymore. Some people in Europe don’t even know if the war is still ongoing, while we stand as a meat shield for the rest of this continent, our lives completely worthless to the rest of the world.

And please remember, this is done with either full support or silent approval from the russian population, paid for by their taxes and by everyone who pays them from abroad. They don’t protest, they don’t care, they want us all to die. Please don’t ignore this nightmare, and please don’t contribute to it. It matters.

Friend 🩸 A sketch of Hinako I made after the trailer release gradually turned into this strange piece as I progressed further into the game. Silent Hill f is giving me something I never expected to feel again - an authentic Silent Hill experience, not the westernised mess the series has turned into since Homecoming. I adore it and can’t wait to explore it in depth once I’ve finished my first playthrough. ____________
