In exactly 45 days from now
— I don't know your name. I don't know where you are. Sometimes I wonder if you're already living your life somewhere, or if we'll simply remain strangers forever.
"Yet you're talking to me as if I were listening."
— Maybe because I hope you are. Hope has a strange habit of speaking into silence.
"What would you tell me if I were real?"
— That I'm sorry I'm not there yet. I'm still learning how to be someone who can love without losing himself. I'm still fixing parts of me that no one can see.
"Do you think you have to become perfect first?"
— No... I stopped believing that. I just want to arrive with honesty instead of pretending to be stronger than I am.
"I don't need perfection."
— I know. But I still want to become a man who can stand beside you when life gets heavy, not someone you have to carry.
"What if we never meet?"
— Then I hope you're happy anyway. I hope someone notices the little things about you, the way you laugh when you're comfortable, the dreams you never tell anyone, the moments when you pretend you're okay.
"Wouldn't that break your heart?'
— A little.
But loving someone you've never met has never been about possession. It's about wishing that somewhere in this enormous world, kindness finds you before loneliness does.
"And what do you hope for yourself?"
— That I don't become so afraid of disappointment that I stop recognizing you if you finally appear.
"Maybe we've already crossed paths."
— Maybe. Maybe we were two strangers buying coffee on the same morning. Maybe we sat on opposite sides of a train. Maybe you smiled at me once, and I was too distracted to notice.
Or maybe we're simply two stories that were never meant to share the same page.
"If that's true... will you regret it?"
— No.
Because even if I never meet you, the thought of you has quietly made me a better man.
It taught me patience.
It taught me tenderness.
It reminded me not to let bitterness become my home.
So if we never find each other...
Thank you anyway.
"Then let me leave you with one thought."
— I'm listening.
"Whether I exist in your future or only in your imagination, don't wait for me before you start living.
Become the man you hope to be.
Smile more than you worry.
Love the people already in your life.
And if one day you hear someone laugh in a way that makes the world feel strangely familiar...
Come and say hello."
— I will.
