Still annoyed that yall are saying it's hard to do magic when elementals are RIGHT THERE. Don't try and tell me you cant find AIR of all things.

Kinda struggling with this myself, at the moment. Are my bad dreams a result of stress, which is mundane, or am I being scolded for slipping on my studies?

I don’t wear red socks.  As a kid around 7-8 years old, I had a few pairs of red socks for a while. And every single time I wore the red socks, something improbable and unlucky would happen to me. Nothing truly serious, but for instance, I’d get minorly injured in a strange freak accident (like “needs a wash and a bandaid” level of first-aid), or someone would trip in the lunchroom and spill their food on me, or I would NOT be able to keep my shoe tied to save my life all day (with a pair of shoes that normally stayed tied just fine).  I noticed that there was a pattern and stopped wearing red socks, the weird bad luck also stopped, and I haven’t worn a red sock since.

I don’t take feathers from the ground. I did for a while, but then I started noticing that bad things would happen afterward. Not sure if it was a coincidence, not interested in testing it.

This such a good explanation of my problem with so many “witches”, on tumblr and real life alike. Nice to see it expressed so concisely and rationally. Bottom line: if you dont think magic/witchcraft can influence reality despite physical limitations or obstacles, you fundamentally do not understand what it is and are clearly not practicing it. End of discussion.

I agree with the above, but I also want to say that you absolutely should put forth mundane effort to get the things you want, too. It increases your odds. You won’t be able to know for sure if the magic worked on its own, if the magic didn’t work at all, or if the magic had to mingle with the mundane, and that will make troubleshooting harder, but I think most of us just want what we want at the end of the day.

Gonna buckle down and piece together a spell I’ve been meaning to do for a while. It’s related to work, so I’m going to do it the first hour of sunrise on Wednesday. Wish me luck.

I regularly use nail polish to hold glamours in place. Shit ain’t no joke.  Anything that magic can be put into while it converts itself from a liquid to a solid is VERY effective for holding that magic in place, once it’s set. Nail polish is no exception. 

I have a clear nail-hardening polish that I added a little dragon’s blood ink to. I paint it on for days that I need a little extra strength/courage. It seems to work well.
