If you're not American and you live in the global south where libraries are not well funded, it's morally okay to sign up for American public libraries digital memberships using fake addresses to access their Libby/Overdrive.

So one of the content farm channels stealing fics has an ao3 now and last night they commented on Butterfly asking to make money off it while paying me in exposure.

I confronted them on discord and asked how they had the audacity to ask the people they stole from to use their hard work to line his pockets without even apologizing. Long story short, I gave them an ultimatum to post a public apology on their youtube channel to prove they actually care about doing the right thing and aren’t just a grifter telling me what I want to hear for money. And they asked me to write the apology, TO ME, for them.

I should have asked if their mommy still wipes their ass for them too.

Person A shared a book excerpt about the many factors behind the French revolution, which mentioned that in 1787, as the monarchy was already crumbling, Louis XVI became (what we could call today) depressed—apathetic, sleeping a lot, crying often, gaining weight... Text said that this weight gain was another nail in the coffin re: the public opinion of him, with satirical songs and drawings circulating about how the King kept getting fatter while taxes went up

Person B "wow that's fascinating, I didn't realise fat-shaming had been a factor in the French revolution"

Person A (clearly boggles at this and tries to explain that poor commoners hating their King for getting fatter while they can't buy bread doesn't fit the modern definition of fat-shaming)

Person B "Ah, sorry. So it was more about classism or something?"

I don't think it's ableism for hungry people to resent their king for gaining weight while he keeps them starving, even if the weight gain stems from him being depressed at the prospect of his despotic rule coming to an end ✂ 🇨🇵 🍾
