lorelai wasn't very good at maintaining relationships, she especially wasn't very good at making friends. it had never been important to her. winning, succeeding, crushing her enemies into fine dust, that was important to her. redwood hollow had worn her down some over the years. that's how she ended up with standing lunch date with eilonwy pelydryn of all people. a sweetheart, truly. a damn lifesaving doctor. she was like a shining beacon of hope in lorelai's otherwise stormy and cutthroat world.
she had been staring into her salad for longer than was normal. she ought not to say anything and she really hadn't meant to. but before she knew it, she had blurted- "it's quite possible i never mentioned this... but i have a daughter." @eilonwy-pelydryn
eilonwy of all people was surprised that she had somehow managed to strike up a friendship with lorelai hart over the years. both their schedules were near impossible to match up apart from the longstanding lunches they kept to make sure they caught up with one another. she admired lorelai and everything she had built, it was impressive and lorelai herself was an impressive woman.
they had chatted away catching up with one another throughout their lunch in between bites of their food. eilowny placed her fork down on her plate to take a drink of her water when lorelai's revelataion caused her to nearly spit the drink out in the middle of the restaurant "what? what do you mean you have a daughter?" she asked absolutely jaw on the floor stunned at what she was just told "you can't just nonchalantly drop that kind of news, lorelai" she laughed still in shock "please elaborate..."
