"Rape Revenge - Rates Of Failure

We have stacked the odds against hope. How many of my friends are in 

abusive relationships? How many men in bands I love are rapists? 

Everyone I know is a survivor. When does it end.

Sometimes it seems like every woman I know has been sexually abused, 

like all my friends in relationships are treating each other like 

shit, and abusing each other. We like to believe that punks are 

immune to intimate violence, but actually we seems to be more prone to 

it than others. No, your equality tattoo doesn’t mean you are not 

going to do oppressive, misogynistic shit. No, your identity as an 

anarchist doesn’t keep you from treating your partners oppressively. 

I feel so much anger and sadness about the amount of abuse happening 

in my community. Men need to start taking a stand against domestic 

abuse, and unlearning all the behaviors promoted by rape culture. We 

need to be brave enough to talk openly about abuse, and to have our 

friend’s backs when they are in shitty relationships. We need to not 

only resist and tear down the abuse of capitalism and colonialism, but 

start building communities that are healthy and free from intimate
