Jackpot. Exactly what we were looking for. The bananas at the top ripen much faster than anything below and the farmers would throw them away, as they can't sell those. As long as you behave responsibly and don't damage the crop that they want to sell it's fine to take those. So we came back home with probably 10kg of bananas that taste nothing like those in Europe. :D Fun fact though: the bananas sold in supermarkets on Tenerife are all even greener than the ones you'd be in Europe. And I always thought local products would be much better and riper... One of the first things you'll learn coming here is that the fruits of this cactus are edible, and quite yummy as well. Here one guy we found on a path usually being avoided on our way to a banana plantage. We were walking up this boring, steep little road for probably half a day. Only later we had a nice view on another island on the horizon (Gran Canaria), but only when we turned around. For those who are interested in some technical photography aspects of this set: this was shot with a Pentax Super Takumar 50mm/f1.4. Sometimes, like for the night set i would use it with a speedbooster. The camera is a Sony a6500. For wide angles I used a Sony 20mm/f2.8 lens. Alina and Oksana disappeared on their own mission earlier this evening. Having had coffee at a friend's, then walking around through the canyons and hills. That night I even made it to the 5th barranco (3rd picture), supposedly populated only by a bunch of polish hippies. Further away from the beach not many people decide to settle there, I suppose because most who walk from the golf course or from La Caleta think they have found "the place" by the time they come to the 2nd beach or 3rd barranco... And then just stop exploring.
