I’ve spent 14 birthdays with you and I can’t remember a single thing we did to celebrate any of them. Happy Birthday up there, I hope it’s everything you want it to be.

Can we get some closure? 

He asked if he came at the right time. And you tell him yes. Then he asked if you still feel that sadness and dread when you're around him. You tell him no. But you don't tell him about how you took your time healing the past few years. How you learned to be happy on your own so that you didn't have to depend on someone else to make you happy. And how you finally got help a few months ago and have not felt this great in such a long time.

He said he wants to take care of you but you've been taking care of yourself for so long you don't know what that means.
