He thought he was helping Pokémon, he thought he was a savior in a sense. Though in a way, he was hurting them. People abandoned their Pokémon because of Team Plasma, Team Plasma themselves stole Pokémon. You can’t convince me Team Plasma grunts treated their Pokémon 100% correctly.
“Maybe born in a storm beneath an angry sky” His luck his whole life was poor, he was abandoned, chosen by Ghetsis, then thrown away like garbage. Ghetsis himself is an angry man.
“Now it's raining in my head nearly all the time. Now It's raining in my head and I don't know why.”
He was/is grasping with the fact his life was a lie. In Masters he’s shown to believe he’s a freak, even that he is weak. He is struggling with his self perception, trying to see himself as human, and not “a freak without a human heart.”
“All the love all the kindness all your best laid plans”
No comment, this is so obvious what this line reminds me of.
“Couldn't stop me from becoming the way that I am”
He was still a “freak” to Ghetsis, all of Ghetsis’s plans didn’t stop N from showing kindness. He had it in him, but it was twisted due to Ghetsis’s plans.
Ghetsis’s ideals didn’t stop N from becoming who he was, they just halted him.
“You toiled on a bridge to cross the gap inside
But I couldn't help you build it and I don't know why
No I couldn't let you build it, but God knows you tried”
