Having Kuvira not know about Guan and Sheng developing the mind control devices is such a copout. Because it would just be so fascinating to see what she would plan to do with it. Because, yes she would use it, idc what the comics tell me. Kuvira has her redeeming qualities but respect for human autonomy is not one of them. Of course, she'd tell herself that she's helping, that this is for the best. That the people she's mind wiping don't know any better and need her help.

I adore the idea of her and Baatar Jr being so starved for Suyin's approval that they end up brainwashing the Beifongs lol. Like Kuvira forcefully building this perfect family that loves and accepts her and yet it isn't enough. Because, as much as she tries, she can't get everything by force. (Taking things by force and that not being enough is such a theme with Kuvira, I adore it.)

I rewatched The Legend of Korra and it's leaving a bad taste in my mouth how Bolin's comedy relief subplot in B2 is just him being victim of trafficking, forced married, grooming and sexualization. Dude, he wasn't even 18 yo when all that happened.

I've seen comments about how Korra's relationship with her uncle is a allegory for grooming and sexual abuse (and that literally broke my heart, I love her so much), but Bolin is literally being abuse in you face and take as a joke. Swap the genres of Boska and that stops being funny.

I wouldn't have so much problem with that if were someone's AU/HC/ship dynamic and non something canon in a program for teenagers.
