They make me sick I hate them so much ❤️ Anyways this took like 4 days to make but I made my doomed toxic yaoi ship art! I rarely made Fanart so you can tell I was in the T R E N C H E S when I made this. I’m lowkey obsessed with them. Did anyone notice the branches sprouting out of Qifrey? I cast him in so much shadow you can’t really see it, but I thought it would be a nice gut-punch.

These two have been my Roman Empire for the past few weeks. Spoilers for the Witch Hat Atilier manga ofc. The way I actually screamed when it was revealed that Qifrey basically has the “fuck you you shall never feel joy” tree stuck in him. It also puts you into a new perspective on why he does so much of what he does. He’s torturing himself, because if he’s ever happy, he just dies. At first I was confused on why he was so keen on finding the brimhats if he wouldn’t get his sight back, but turns out he’s doing it for justice, but also to keep himself miserable. On some level he also won’t let Olruggio in so he can guard his misery I feel.

It’s also so sad for Olruggio because he’s constantly being lied to, and having his memories erased. He”s constantly made to feel crazy, or like a bad friend that Qifrey can’t turn to over, and over, and over again for, what, 10 years now? He just lives with his “best friend *cough, cough, situationship* forever in limbo. Qifrey always ends up folding and spilling waht’s going on to Olruggio, and then has to erase his memories because as much as it pains him, he doesn’t want to put Olruggio through that. It takes away Olruggio’s agency, and hurts both of them even if Qifrey thinks it’s protection.

in the drawing I made Olruggio look a bit confused as he floats away, because Qifrey won’t allow him to understand. The only reason he let Coco was because he feels they’re similar, but Olruggio is perfect to him. He wouldn’t dare taint him with his endeavours. Qifrey literally won’t let him help him. Olruggio is the most patient, nicest man I have ever seen bc he’s so patient with this guy. Basically the only time we saw Olruggio lash out at Qifrey was when Coco arrived because he broke a promise, and Qifrey basically threatened to torture himself if he didn’t let it slide.

If Qifrey ever did become free of the Silverwood tree, imagine him trying to allow himself to be happy? Imagine the guilt? He literally does not have memories of being fully comfortable and at peace. If he did, he would be a tree right now. Olruggio, as kind and patient as he is, would wait for him all the same. He’s already withstood this fuckass situationship for the past 10 years. They make me so angry I love them.

Olruggio is trying to fly to higher, but Qifrey can’t let go of the ground. He’s imbedded in it, but neither of them are willing to let go.

Anyways that’s it for now. I might talk about them again soon tho, or wha in general bc there’s so many good things about it outside of these two idiots.
