I've always thought that Tobirama was the one in charge of raising Kawarama and Itama, that's why he was so mature from such a young age, he even defended hashirama from their father. He needed to mature from such a young age TT

sometimes i like to think hashirama got to wear his heart on his sleeve because tobirama had always been the one hiding his for both of them. tobirama became strong like their father wanted and learned to be strong so hashirama could grow strong on his own way without their father constricting him as much and to be able to help hashirama when he needed. maybe they don't even realize that it is the case but maybe it is. and by "like to think" i mean i lay at night wide awake thinking about tobirama and all he had to be to keep what he loved safe and how sometimes it didn't work. anyway,
