Eddie pauses for a moment and decides to just keep talking now.
"Ah well, chimeras are their own species, but the way they were is considered a bit of a biological enigma. There's a good few main types; dark, light, electric, air, earth, fire, water, some others too. Light chimeras are considered closer to the celestial planes, but were banished in the past. Chimeras got demonized over the years, many non human species did, so it tends to be safer to hide those traits. Not every species can do so without illusion magic, which is what I use..."
"Chimeras are a mix of different species DNA, but they are also prone to gaining more as they grow and develop, and even after becoming adults. My mom was an electric chimera, and my dad was a merfolk so I have both those traits, but chimera traits tend to come through more than most species."
He seems quite content to ramble.
"I didn't always have moth wings actually. I used to have copper feather wings. Very shiny, but the moth wings fly faster. This isn't actually my true form, but the most human I can look without magic..."
"Biologically chimeras kind of have an elemental base in a way and a mix of species DNA, but there hasn't been a discovered explanation as to how, because we can get species DNA that wasn't even ever in our bloodline."
He purrs happily.
"It's really interesting. We also live longer than humans. Usual chimeras live for around a thousand years, but I became immortal at some point, long story, so I've been around for a good few thousand years by now..."
{Simon listens, like every word that came out of Eddie mouth was something to be worshipped}
{when Eddie finishes talking, he closes the first aid kit and sips his bottle, which is beer}
âHm.. chimera, merfolk, and your immortalâ
âNow it makes sense why you have such an ancient carâŚâ
{he mutters quietly, heâs still processing this all}
ââŚâ
âHow did you know that.. you were.. yknow⌠Queerâ
{he asks, saying the last word under his breath, an genuine question.. heâs seems to be still confused about the whole multiple partners more so than Eddie being a mythical creature. one step at a time}
"It is a nice car to be fair."
He smiles with a soft chuckle and pauses at the question. He takes a moment to figure out how to reply to that.
"It was a long journey honestly uh... I actually need a lot of context to explain it fully."
He chuckles a bit nervously and takes a deep breath.
"I used to be a woman, long while ago now, and thought I was only into women back then. Lesbian would be the term. Transgender for... I'll explain that in a bit."
Eddie had a lot more going on that just figuring out sexuality.
"I was never all too interested in sex either, that term being asexual. Um. I did figure out I was trans at some point, but too scared to transition. My old friend group was not great... Uh... I met my wife at a low point, before I transitioned, and at the time she didn't know she was trans either..."
He sighs realizing his journey is very muddled.
"I eventually figured out I was into men as well when I met her back then, and also realized I was demisexual. I really only experience that attraction when I'm really close to someone... She was the first person I felt that with."
He's not the best person to explain this in a simple manner.
"I just realized these things as I spent time around different people. I identify with pansexual as a label. I am attracted to any gender with no preferences. It feels the same when I'm attracted to anyone regardless of gender. Just wanting to be close and never leave, but I'm really clingy when I love someone."
He seems to be struggling to explain properly.
"Queer is a broad term as well. Polyamorous is a term meaning a person that tends to be with multiple partners. I have many that my wife is also with, and a lot of them are also with other people."
"Like sexuality I figured out just through experiences and being around different people throughout my life. I figured out demisexual through similar. and I kind of figured out being trans through the discomfort I had with being a woman. I have been so much happier since transitioning to present as masculine."
He looks at Simon with a nervous smile knowing how muddled his explanation is.
"Sorry that I don't have a clear explanation, but I don't think it's a clear journey for most people anyway."
He isn't sure what else to say. His ramble was a bit all over the place.
{Simon blinks again, and remains silent}
âYou donât look anything like a lady⌠well, I suppose thatâs a good thing since you ainât one.â
{Simon looks so lost, but heâs trying his best}
âLookâŚ.â
âI donât care what you are at this point, I respect ya because you respected me.. but you donât know the full storyâ
{he pulls out his seed pendant and rubs it with his thumb as he speaks}
âIâm.. an ex-prisoner who used to be in a cult, called the Garden of Eden.. I was born into it, didnât think betterâ
âI killed.. so.. many people that I was dubbed their executioner.. until one day⌠I was being sacrificed to the tree. I- just wanted to live so I ran, I burned down the cult..â
{Simon clenches his jaw, eyes filled with guilt}
âI got arrested for 10 years, got out on parole and good behavior⌠now Iâm hereâ
âSo there⌠youâre sitting in front of a crazed killer who was in a cult.â
Eddie pauses to listen carefully.
"... No, I'm sitting in front of Simon I'd say."
He doesn't seem scared, or even bothered. Instead he sounds empathic.
"You wanted to live. Anyone does... Sadly, sometimes, we end up doing things we regret or needing to do things we will regret to do that."
He pauses briefly.
"I have killed people too, I won't hide that, but I wanted to live. I wanted to protect the people close to me... Especially if it meant protecting the people I love."
"I don't blame you. It'd be extremely hypocritical if I were to even. But I understand... Guilt and grief over it I can understand in a way too."
He takes a deep breath and sets down the bottle of coke.
"Would you blame someone else if they did the same thing?... If they killed the people who were going to kill them, because they desperately wanted to live?"
He looks at Simon as he asks that. Eddie has been a similar spot many times before.
{Simon looks down at his pendant, he remains silent for a long time}
âI.. no I wouldnâtâ
{He takes a deep shaky breath, before running his hand through Simonâs hair}
âYouâre weird, City Boyâ
{He chuckles exhaustively}
âBut I guess that makes two of us.. I ainât anything like you.. but we have similarities.. more ways than I thoughtâ
Eddie smiles softly and chuckles.
"Suppose I am plenty weird..."
He takes a deep breath and sighs.
"I am curious about whate exactly the pedant is still, but you don't need to answer that."
He figures it's related to the cult by now at least.
"You also sounds tired. Do you want to go to sleep?..."
He pauses for a moment.
"And do you want to sleep out on the couch?"
He's assuming Simon wouldn't want Eddie in his room. He respects privacy.
{Simon pauses then chuckles}
âAre you tellinâ me to sleep out on my own couch?â
{he said playfully but sighs}
âThe pendant is a seed from the Eden Tree.. a promise that our bodies will become soil for the seed when we dieâ
âI dunno why I still keep itâ
Eddie pauses and then laughs, realizing he misspoke...
"Sorry, I meant to ask if you wanted me to sleep on the couch."
He sounds amused at himself rather than embarrassed.
Eddie takes a deep breath and sighs as he listens.
"Maybe it's just hard to let go of the past sometimes? Even when it wasn't exactly the best moments..."
He can understand that. He can understand it pretty well.
âMaybeâŚâ
{Simon sighs and rubs the pendant with his thumb, in a comforting grounding way}
âItâs gettinâ late. If you want to sleep on the couch, I donât care, my bed is big enough if you wanna sleep somewhere more comfortableâ
âI donât move any in my sleep.â
Eddie thinks for a few moments.
"I'd be fine sharing a bed if you are."
He pauses for a moment again.
"Though I believe I move around a bit in my sleep..."
He doesn't exactly remember the best since he doesn't think much about how he sleeps anymore.
He stands up and stretches.
"You want to sleep now?"
{Simon nods and gets up with a quiet grunt}
ââMhmâ sâunds good. Do you need somethinâ to sleep in? Or you can you magically switch clothes?â
{Simon says teasingly, though still full trying to process deep down}
Eddie chuckles and summons a suit case.
"Bit of an in between."
He smirks slightly and opens the case to grab clothesâ ... Did he not pack for more than a couple days?
"Ah... Uh... Apparently I do need clothes."
Now he seems a tad embarrassed. Of course he didn't plan for something like this.
He should also update Remy... And probably hear a lot of teasing about picking up strays again.
{Simon laughs, the sound is so deep and rare, he rolls his eyes but he didnât seem to mind}
âIâve got some old shirts and boxers you can borrow then, Wiresâ
{he leaves it up to Eddie if he wants to follow, as he heads towards his bedroom}
Eddie chuckles and sighs with a head shake. He follows Simon to his bedroom.
"I like that nickname, love~"
He says playfully.
"Thank you for letting me borrow some of my clothes as well."
âOh~ so itâs your clothes now? I havenât even given them to you and youâre claiming them?â
{Simons opens the door to his bedroom, and it smells a lot like Simonâs scent}
{the room isnât much, itâs a decent size with a king bed, itâs dark until he switches the light on, and every surface has some kind of plant in a pot, growing beautifully, some big and spacey pots even for just one plant, the room wasnât very organized but it makes sense to him}
{Simons walks into his closet picking out some of his older loose shirts and some clean boxers}
{The bed is neat and tucked on one side, but the left side holds memory of Simonâs body and the sheets arenât tucked.. he really one sleeps on one side}
Eddie chuckles and smirks.
"Mm, well can't say I'm not know for stealing my partners clothes~"
There is no purposeful implication there, but he doesn't realize there could be an accidental one.
He looks around the room, his tails swaying happily as he sees all the plants.
"You have a lot of plants."
His tone carries that happiness the same as his tails. Plants make rooms feel more lively.
Eddie also stares at Simon's side of the bed.
"Like having your own spot?"
His voice carries some amusement and playfulness.
{Simon doesnât comment on the implications as he walks back to hand Eddie his clothes} âI rarely got to chance to see many plants during my life time.. grown to appreciate themâ
âHm? I suppose so, back on Eden we didnât have much room either, so you learned to not move aroundâ
{Simon looks at his bed}
"Plants just make spaces feel more lively in my opinion... Can be pretty too."
He hums softly and takes the clothes.
"Ah, I see. Habits tend to stick."
"Where is your bathroom though?"
His demeanor seems more relaxed than when they met.
âHm, oh itâs the door to your rightâ
{Simon gestures out the bedroom and to the closed door down the hall}
"Thank you."
Eddie nods and heads out the bedroom to the door Simon said.
{Simon decides to get ready for bed while Eddie is away, he looks through his closet before stripping and starts putting on his sweat pants and a loose forest green shirt}
Eddie returns a few minutes after he left. In just a loose t shirt and boxers his muscles are a lot more visible. He's fairly muscular looking, but still soft.
