Jake and Clare wouldve been better as step siblings without them dating before, or dating without them being step siblings.
Jake was very boring in my opinion when he was with Clare like J love both characters and I think them dating did help with development and I think after how intense Eli was Clare needed someone just for fun or more laid back and it was casual at first I think instead of continuing with the relationship Clare realised maybe she not ready for that relationship yet she needs to heal first and I hate how Clalli had a mini break cause of Jake so I think at movie night episode Clare is like “Okay I’m not ready for anything romantic” and Jake be understanding and then find out their parents are dating cause I did love them as step siblings even friends was cute
