Loki allowed himself to relax a little further as Karen considered their options. She was willing to risk a more private meeting with him, then. Good. There were things he could likely answer more easily in such a setting and she was very right, interruptions were far less likely. Unless it was by her smaller-horned friend. He wondered what Mr Murdock even thought he could do about him. Physically anyway.

He took the mug gratefully, leaning against the counter as he looked her over. "You're up early..." It was more of a comment than a question. "I'm almost never up after you."

It took effort not to let his formality dissolve into silly excitement and potentially ruin the agreement she was making. At least Midgardian alcohol wouldn't make him lose control unless he drank a questionable amount of it. If Karen would feel more comfortable in public, too, all the better. There were bound to be people who looked like 'Loki' on this planet. He wasn't going to be walking around like a normal person. Besides, wasn't he dead?

When Frank woke, he was surprised he'd slept as well as he did. The enticing smell of coffee wafted through Karen's apartment and he found himself getting to his feet to find her and to check and see if it was ready.

Those words tugged at him. Guilt pooling in his gut. He shouldn't give her the chance to love him. He knew he should go. Keep her out of harm's way, but he couldn't help himself. Not tonight. "Love you too... I'll be here all night Karen. I promise you that."

"No battles tonight," He repeated, voice gruff and tired. "You got me all night." His fingers carded through her hair, hoping she'd be satisfied with that. "I'll be right here when you wake up."

"I sleep better when I'm with you." - Frank

"I promise. I'm not going anywhere tonight," Frank swore, holding her close. He hoped she rested, but he was nearly sure that she wouldn't believe him. She'd be waiting to hear him leave, but he planned on keeping his word. "You can rest easy tonight."

He hated knowing she worried for him so constantly. It made him feel like hell, but he had a job to finish. Or at least....that was what he kept telling himself. Somewhere inside he knew there would always be a list of names that needed his attention.

She hated knowing that he worried about her. She knew that from the moment hey met. Everything about the way he was about her and around her told her all that she needed to know.
