This weekend should have been Jordancon 2020. Unfortunately, the coronavirus didn’t allow for it to happen in person. Not to be thwarted the Jordancon Team put together an amazing online con in an incredibly short period of time.

Navigating the new normal. That is a phrase that I am hearing a lot.  It almost sounds like an oxymoron. How can something be new and normal?

Yet here we are trying to figure out how to work from home or in some cases what to donow that we are unemployed, trying to figure out this whole “distance learning” thing whether for ourselves or our kids and basically learning how to be social but at a…

Quarantine is a scary word. 

So we change it to Social Distancing and no one listens.

We shut down schools to keep kids safe and they congregate in other places.

Spring breakers can’t resist the idea of a party so they endanger themselves and others high off the hubris of youth.

So today I felt the need to write something. I mean I have a lot of time on my hands now, and I felt the urge. And I wanted to reach out to people. 

I wanted to talk to the people that may be struggling with social distancing. It is not an easy thing for many.  Humans, for the most part, are social by nature. Even introverts like human companionship some times.

I want to be a writer, but what should I write?

Today during my Facebook ponderings I remarked upon the fact that I wished I had fulfilled my childhood dream of being a writer.  Of course, my friends were right there telling me I still could be a writer, the only thing stopping me was me. Which is, of course, true….but sometimes your biggest obstacle is yourself.  However, I don’t know if it is the sunshine or my promise to be more optimistic…

Everything tells us, especially women, that you need to have a group of friends to lift you up and hold you down.  When you don’t have that you feel like less.

It was a Beginning…….

Today is the 12th anniversary of the death of Robert Jordan, author of the Wheel of Time, but it is also a special day for fans because it is the first day of principal photography for the upcoming Wheel of Time television series on Amazon Prime.  While this new beginning fills the fandom with mixed emotions on this day one thing is for sure. We lived in Ohio for 8 years, which is almost unheard of. And in those 8 years, I feel like we laid deep roots.  Our youngest child was born there, we built a house( which I love), both…

I recently moved, as military spouses do, and as a result, I have a lot of free time on my hands as I look for a job. And since there is only so much housework one can do, I thought “Hey I should get back to writing my blog” Great Idea, right?  Except the thing is I don’t really know what to write about.
