Gender abolition, but make it:
clothes sorted by body shape and style, instead of gender
removing unnecessary gender markers from non-medical documents like a driverâs license
genderless bathrooms where the stalls have floor-to-ceiling walls for privacy
abolishing gendered toys, colors, professions, hobbies, etc.
they/them as the default if you donât know someone
And NOT:
trans and non-binary people being barred from identifying with and expressing their gender
TINY WRLD (2020)
I just know that this is permanent. Every time I look at the clock and see that itâs 4pm Iâm going to be like âoh, itâs bonky.â fuck this
Sigmar Polkeâs agate âstained glassâ windows for the Grossmunster church in Zurich
individuals will go into a system like I'm stronger than this system and will change it but no It's literally always the opposite
"I'm gonna join the the military and reform it from the inside" no you aren't. there aren't enough words in the english language to explain just how much you won't be able to do that
How do things change then? Yea, one person canât walk in an change the whole military, but they *can* change the culture of one unit and make a difference in the lives of the people in it. (Note: not sanctioning the military or their colonialist actions, just the people who find themselves for a multitude of reasons and recognize the problems and want to do better)
Iâm a med student. Not only is much of the culture of medicine utter trash but the US healthcare system is as well. I was recently speaking to my priest when I was feeling helpless and powerless in the system and he told me that maybe sometimes people stay and *try* to make a difference. Youâre aware of the culture, fight against it. Stand up for your patients. Use your social status as a physician to lobby for political change. Big change starts with little change
Should somebody walk into the military with the sole intent on changing the entire system? No! But if you find yourself there, or if you find yourself in a shitty situation, stand up and try to make a difference in any way you can, donât just resign yourself because itâs a systemic problem
Reblog is right in that action is better than inaction. Especially since OP's only response was "stfu", which is just depressingly unproductive.
Anarchists and leftists in general have a bad reputation for hating everything and not doing anything about it. This med student has proven a better anarchist than I am because they are TRYING something.
We must either destroy the broken system, try to reshape the broken system, or build a new system, and the "stfu" response really fuckin pissed me off.
So, to my beloved fellow leftists of all kinds,
PUT UP OR SHUT UP.
The military is literally inherently violent tho??? We can explore on why the medical field is corrupt/broken and if it has inherent qualities that keeps it that way, but at its most basic, the âmotivationâ is for the betterment of peoples health. The military is not just corrupt, it is inherently violent. Thatâs why you canât change it from the inside, itâs doing what its SUPPOSED to do.
Even though the immediate jump to negativity proves my point about how much of a neg every anarchist seems to be, I completely agree with this contribution. Let me assure you that by saying "Reblog is right" I am endorsing the med student's attempt to save people lives as a doctor, and agreeing with their stated position "should somebody walk into the military with the sole intent on changing the entire system? No!"
Their elaboration on that statement about finding oneself "there" reminds me of U.S. conscripts in Vietnam who took bets on who could assassinate their own C.O.'s, and even put bounties out on them at times. They found themselves in a shitty situation and, with no way to actually stop the war, did the next best thing: they killed capitalist butchers.
Becoming a doctor to ensure your neighbors have good healthcare is good. It is to be celebrated, and if you're not interested in being happy that someone is Actively Trying to Help, then with all the love and solidarity in the world I beg you, SHUT. UP.
Lmao what. Anyway A toxic system attracts toxic people. A violent system attracts violent people. Are you aware of the statistics in sexual assault in the military? Did you know one in five women in the air force have experienced sexual assault? Did you know 71% of those who are victims donât report the crime? Itâs not just by higher ups, 24% are perpetrated by their peers. Iâm not just talking about it at a macro level, Iâm talking about it at an individual level. You canât change the people if thatâs what the people wanted in the first place. Also, the only reason fragging was so common in the Vietnam War, was because it bred the right conditions to do so (draft, short conscriptions meaning detached bonds, soldiers knew war was ending, government desperate to accept anybody so less morale, etc.) . It wasnât JUST the Anti-War movement. Everything was basically falling apart at the right time. It hasnât been common in WWI, WWII, and definitely has not been that common since. Also lol no??? I wonât shut up?? You picked the wrong site for that to happen. Why contribute in the first place if you donât want people to reply to you? Who put a stick up your butt, buddy? If you want me to shut up so bad then block me. ;*
I'll put it more simply and see it it's understood this time:
Trying to help is better than not trying to help.
Astounding that this isn't common sense among Leftists.
I mean Iâm definitely not opposed to every attempt at reform but reforming the US military? Come the fuck on jfk lmao đ¤Ł
"A toxic system attracts toxic people"
I have a real problem with this. The military often attracts people that see no other choice, no other options. The military often "attracts" people from low socioeconomic status with very little chance of upward mobility. I am not pro-military by any means, but I also know that desperation is more often than not the reason that many people join the military. It provides structure, health care, housing, free education, the chance to travel and explore new places, etc. Also, many individuals in the U.S. join the military so that they have a better chance of bringing their family over from other countries.
Can you see how this would be appealing? "I'll sell my body and soul so that my family can have a better life."
The "toxic people" narrative is so completely devoid of perspective and nuance. Nothing is that simple. And the whole concept of people being toxic in the first place is problematic. Toxicity is contextual. Often elements become toxic when mixed with specific things or under certain conditions, but are completely harmless while on their own. And what hurts one can be life saving in a different context. Like, things that people do to cope with and survive traumatic circumstances can later hurt them when they are no longer struggling in the same ways.
It's all about perspective and context. If you aren't attending to these things, then your arguments aren't worth much.

Do you like the color of tumblr mobile?

Like an absolute dumbass
@ everyone reblogging this currently, I hope you know that you got me back. I fell for my own post. Not only are we all fools, but weâre the entire circus
this is also how i became a leftist after being raising very traditional/conservative/catholic tbh
hearing them break down âbadâ leftist ideas and i was just sitting there waiting for the bad part that didnât comeâŚand iâm likeâŚ.yes? you should probably give free lunches to kids when their parents canât afford to feed them dinner? why do you not want this?
trying to figure out politics was me just moving further to the left the more i learned about pretty much every single issue because of the traditional/catholic parts of my upbringing which is why iâm so baffled that so much of my family falls much more red than blue and iâll probably never understand how that happened
iâve had family straight up ask me why i support programs like free lunch and i had to explain that i support them because they taught me that i should care about other people and try to make the world a better place and the golden ruleâŚthey never seem to have an answer for when i ask them back why they donât support those same programs
why do black people use you in the wrong context? such is "you ugly" instead of "you're ugly" I know u guys can differentiate, it's a nuisance
you a bitch
Itâs called copula deletion, or zero copula. Many languages and dialects, including Ancient Greek and Russian, delete the copula (the verb to be) when the context is obvious.
So an utterance like âyou a bitchâ in AAVE is not an example of a misused you, but an example of a sentence that deletes the copular verb (are), which is a perfectly valid thing to do in that dialect, just as deleting an /r/ after a vowel is a perfectly valid thing to do in an upper-class British dialect.
Whatâs more, itâs been shown that copula deletion occurs in AAVE exactly in those contexts where copula contraction occurs in so-called âStandard American English.â That is, the basic sentence âYou are greatâ can become âYouâre greatâ in SAE and âYou greatâ in AAVE, but âI know who you areâ cannot become âI know who youâreâ in SAE, and according to reports, neither can you get âI know who youâ in AAVE.
In other words, AAVE is a set of grammatical rules just as complex and systematic as SAE, and the widespread belief that it is not is nothing more than yet another manifestation of deeply internalized racism.
This is the most intellectual drag Iâve ever read.
This is a really good thread about the Anthony Mackie situation.

I was brushing my teeth for the first time in a while and I wanna stop feeling my mouth right now it still feels weird and it's making me feel really overwhelmed (I don't know if I want to cry or punch something)...
so the question is: is this a common experience for people with autism and/or adhd?? do y'all hate brushing your teeth?? do you know exactly what it bothers you about it?? could you share your experiences??
for me is mostly that the toothpaste burns, the brush feels so uncomfortable in my gums and teeth and the noise is also very annoying, also I end up almost vomiting when I brush my tongue... also the sensation doesn't go away so is specially hard to brush my teeth before bed...
Someone just posted this is in my nueroqueer group and I saw someone talking about this on tiktok the other day. It is common. You're not the only one!
Some alternatives I've seen talked about are using children's toothpaste in a non-minty flavor. Also, moving teeth brushing to after your last meal rather than right before bed. As for your tongue, try squeezing your thumb under the fingers of the same hand (like a fist). I don't know why that works, but someone told me that, and it works for me...
Can you imagine what cathedrals would have been like if the medievals had access to neon lighting?
This is the quote I had in mind when making this post.
Some Vietnamese churches give a glimpse of what it mightâve been like.
