Biodegradable products are meant to break down into natural compost with help of the micro-organisms without harming the environment. Examples of biodegradable items are grocery bags, garbage bags, envelopes, compostable pouches.

01. Lesser Energy Consumption:

While the starting capital might be slightly higher, but in the long term, biodegradable plastics consume a lesser amount of fuel and require fossil fuels to be reprocessed in order to create polymers. What’s more – the lesser the energy requirements, the lesser the pollution, and environmental impact.

02. Less Landfill Area Needed:

Plastics that are non-biodegradable are thrown into landfills to discard. Consequently, the land area that could have been used for agriculture, residence, or industrial applications is instead converted to landfills. If bioplastics are used, there is no requirement to add more landfills since these plastics are biodegradable and compostable.

03. Less Carbon Emission:

Generally plastic releases more than 4 tons of Greenhouse gas emissions while biodegradable plastics only emit nearly 0.8 tons of carbon. This way, compostable plastic bags are nature friendly and they ensure the minimal amount of carbon emissions into the air in the process of manufacturing.

04. Reduced Pollution:

As biodegradable products degrade naturally, they eventually decompose into natural compost and are consumed by soil and other natural components. This natural process means no additional chemical reaction needs to take place to initiate the process and less pollution will happen as a result.

05. Recyclable:

Biodegradable plastic bags usually take a lot less time to compost than regular plastics, they are easy to recycle, that’s too without releasing toxic elements. Another advantage of biodegradable plastic bags is that they are light in weight and much stronger than regular plastic bags.
