Happy 60th birthday to Her Royal Highness Sophie, The Duchess of Edinburgh.

Happy birthday to His Majesty, King Charles III, who turns seventy-five today.

The King is wearing the Imperial State Crown, the Robe of State, and the dress uniform of the Admiral of the Fleet, over which he wears the riband of the Royal Victorian Order. The Queen is wearing the George IV Stated Diadem, which was designed in 1820 for George IV, but has since been worn by every queen regnant or queen consort since Queen Adelaide, the wife of William IV (George IV's successor). The Queen is also wearing the same dress that she wore to the Coronation.

Her Royal Highness Anne, Princess Royal, was appointed by her brother, The King, to serve as Gold-Stick-in-Waiting, a role in which the holder is entrusted with the monarch's safety. It is the same position she held during the Coronation. The Princess Royal wore the full regalia of Colonel of the Blues and Royals, to which she added the green riband of the Order of the Thistle and the collar and star of the Order of the Garter.

The last King's Speech was in 1950 when George VI spoke in regards to Britain's involvement in the Korean War. He was too ill to open Parliament in 1951, and died in February the following year.

Yesterday, during his first vacation at Balmoral Castle since the death of the late Queen, HM King Charles III, accompanied by Her Majesty The Queen, presented the New Ballater Colour to the Royal Guard. The Ballater Colour is a ceremonial Colour which His Majesty The King’s Royal Guard (always an Infantry subunit with strong Scottish connections) carry during Summer Court in Balmoral.

The new Sword of State, named the Elizabeth Sword in honor of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The old Sword of State, called the Papal Sword as it was given by Pope Julius II to James IV in 1507, is deemed too fragile to leave the Crown Room at Edinburgh Castle. The new Sword was designed by former Ormond Pursuivant of Arms Mark Dennis, and is longer and heavier that the Sword of State carried by Penny Mordaunt at the Coronation. It was borne for the first time by Dame Katherine Grainger.

The Crown of Scotland. One of the oldest pieces of royal regalia in the United Kingdom, it was created at the end of 1539 or the beginning of 1540 for King James V of Scotland. It was last used to crown a King of Scots in January 1651, during the coronation of Charles II at Scone. It was successfully hidden during the invasion of Scotland by Oliver Cromwell, who wished to melt it down as he had done with the English Crown Jewels. The Crown rested on the coffin of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II during her lying in state at St. Giles Cathedral.

The Duke and Duchess of Rothesay in attendance at the National Service of Dedication and Thanksgiving held this date at St. Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh. These are the titles used by the Prince and Princess of Wales when in Scotland.

HRH The Princess of Wales, Patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, was in attendance at Wimbledon to celebrate with tennis great Roger Federer as he was honoured in a special ceremony for his stellar achievements at Centre Court during his career. She also stayed to watch as Katie Boulter, the top-ranked British player in women's singles, played against Australia's Daria Saville before rain interrupted the match.
