Comic idea: the moment before this:
Imagine him in Twilight mode in the bathroom, meticulously counting the exact number of squares in the toilet paper strip that heâll insert into his pants before walking out. For the mission.
(No pressure to draw this at all I just thought you might enjoy this idea :) hope youâre getting enough rest!

I wonder if Yorâs ever thought that Loidâs control freak tendencies are related to his previous wife.
Like, maybe Loid asked her to pick up groceries for him one time and she ended up getting hit by a car, so now he feels he has to work three times as hard to make sure he doesnât have to endure a loss like that ever again.
She also doesnât know exactly when she died, so Loid couldâve been a grieving single parent for a few years before he met Yor, which would explain why heâs so anxious all of the time.
A lot of people assume Yor is really gullible and just takes things at face value (which, to be fair, she does), but from her perspective, everything about Loid makes sense as a widower trying to raise a child and maintain a stressful job.
Even his normally sullen attitude could be lingering depression from his wifeâs death.
From Yorâs point of view, Loid has really been put through the wringer and gone through a lot of undeserved pain. But despite all of that, she still sees him as an incredibly kind and patient man, trying to be the best parent he can be for Anya.
Itâs no wonder she wants to be more useful for him: she wants to ease the burdens she thinks heâs been carrying alone.
And sheâs not entirely wrong either.
You hear her guys? She's an e-leet special agent and she will save the world all on her own
Look, I'm just saying, it would be really funny if Donovan got along better with Anya than Fiona or Yuri.

this week in 'how the fuck is miraculous real': astruc declared character birthdays are stupid, whinged about fans wanting to know them, and when he got pushback for that decided everyone's birthdays are right after each other in january
The senti theory confirmation gets funnier & funnier the more you think about it. So many plot holes, you pave one you get another 10 for free. Besides, the Agrestes used the peacock to fulfill their dream of a biological child cause surrogacy, adoption or smth weren't an option. After that the peacock was passed down like alcohol at a party. All their children are the same age.
They held a senti orgy I just can't prove it
I know youâre more of an âAdrien centeredâ criticism/defense blog but I am curious about your opinion on this.
What is your opinion on the âChloe deserves/doesnât deserve redemptionâ situation or the âChloe wasnât meant to be redeemed and there for what happened to her is fair gameâ stance?
---
My thoughts on the ChloĂŠ situation are kinda complex. Back when the show only had three seasons, I did think ChloĂŠâs character trajectory made sense. Sure, sheâd saved people when she was acting as Queen Bee, but she still treated her classmates the same. In fact, she started treating Sabrina worse than before because she considered being anything other than Queen Bee hanging out with Ladybug was slumming it. For me, it really was a 50/50 on whether or not ChloĂŠ would be redeemed or fall into actual villainy.
Because, hereâs how I saw it: I didnât think ChloĂŠ was an actual villain-villain in seasons 1-3. She was Marinetteâs school nemesis and a decidedly defanged one. Marinette was scared of her exactly once, in Origins, a flashback episode meant to showcase how much more confident being Ladybug has made Marinette that she views ChloĂŠ as small potatoes. The season 3 finale could have been the culmination of an arc where Marinette accidentally causes ChloĂŠ to become a villain and ally herself with Hawk Moth in the future.
And it would have been caused by Marinette, even if unintentionally. It would have shown how good intentions can have unforeseen consequences, especially when you donât know what youâre helping someone with or what they want before you do so. Marinette doesnât really understand what sheâs trying to help people with whenever she does try to be helpful, because she assumes what they want and need instead of asking and listening (like in Reflekdoll, the latter part of Ikari Gozen and Quilt Trip). Many heroes create their own villains this way, and Marinette could have done so as well since she was the one to strengthen ChloĂŠâs bond with the person who taught her to be an entitled bully and then she dragged her feet on whether or not she could use the Bee Miraculous.
The season 3 finale shows ChloĂŠ brought to a new low. The following New York Special gives us a glimpse of a ChloĂŠ who is withdrawn, like sheâs reconsidering her life. This could have led to ChloĂŠ deciding that she would have revenge on Ladybug for leading her on and then dumping her (as a teammate). But, it could have also have led to ChloĂŠ realizing that, while Ladybug wasnât her friend, Sabrina was, and she pushed the latter away in pursuit of being the Bee Miraculous holder. ChloĂŠ could have gained new insight that would have led her to start working on how she treats those closest to her, finally starting to treat her schoolmates with decency and, maybe, with time, kindness.
Then season 4 came along and all that foreshadowed introspection was dumped out the window in favor of having ChloĂŠ do cartoonishly stupid school antagonist character things. In season 4, where this kind of hijinks are so incredibly low-stakes that itâs both laughable to see, and laughable to realize the writers think this is good television.
I think the writers realized this too, because then comes season 5 with the retcon that, actually, ChloĂŠ is an evil mastermind who is so heinous that she orchestrated a traumatic event that led to Marintetteâs character flaws and therefore Marinette should be forgiven for her flaws and ChloĂŠ blamed for them. Never mind the damage this episode does to Kimâs character, turning him from an oblivious to jock to a total creep, it also tries to convince us that ChloĂŠ is this big threat despite that it happened at least a year ago in-universe and that she had never done anything even close to this bad since. It just makes no sense when contrasting with the early seasons, where Marinette treats Kim as just one classmate among many and ChloĂŠ as a low-threat nuisance.
The problem was that they decided that they didnât want Marinette to hold any responsibility for anything she does anymore. This is why they wrote the episode âDerisionâ, to absolve Marinette of all responsibility in her stalking of Adrien, even though them making it a serious trauma response instead of a cartoon-logic joke means that now she absolutely should take responsibility for her behavior and get therapy. Because they wanted to give Marinette a retroactive justification, the episode just doesnât mesh with the rest of the show. But, like, the writing in Miraculous seasons 4-5 is so bad itâs of course never just about a single episode, itâs all about how the Miraculous writers donât know how to build up arcs that then come to a logical conclusion, which is why all their story arcsâ endings fall flat and leave viewers thinking âwhereâs the rest of it?â when theyâre not considered one of the worst finales for a show.
Basically, making ChloĂŠ a villain could have worked, but it would have required her getting built up into such a status. The ChloĂŠ of seasons 1-3 isnât a monster, sheâs a brat. But the writers didnât want to do that work despite wanting that story, thinking some repetitive episodes of ChloĂŠ being a brat some more will accomplish the same thing. So, ChloĂŠ just keeps performing petty bullying until the writers think the viewers forgot that sheâs like this because of her mother, who Marinette reunited her with, all the while pretending the woman who calls her by the wrong name to her face on purpose has done nothing wrong as a parent other than âleaveâ, before she randomly turns on Miss Bustier and starts working with Hawk Moth for supposedly no reason in Collusion.
And, like, the thing that really grinds my gears is that it worked. So many people forgot that ChloĂŠâs bullying was modeled to her by her mother, who Marinette reunited her with. Marinette repeatedly tries to fix abused kidsâ relationships to their parents with no regard for how that could harm them in the long run (Adrien, ChloĂŠ and Kagami). Itâs a pattern, but the show thinks Marinetteâs missteps shouldnât be pointed out because she âhad good intentionsâ when her intentions in the instances of The Bubbler, Style Queen and Ikari Gozen were nothing more than: âWell, my parents are great, so these kids are obviously safe with the parents I just saw make them miserable!â The accusing finger for ChloĂŠâs behavior should be pointed at Audrey. Marinette being âtriumphantâ over ChloĂŠ because ChloĂŠ is now stuck with the abuser who made her is already iffy without the added grossness of Marinette being the one who reunited them in the first place.
True.
Marinette had a freaking front row seat to Audrey's treatment of ChloĂŠ in Style Queen and Queen Wasp and her reaction was basically "still try to bond with your horrible mom instead of cutting her out of her life". Like how did you think it would turn out Marinette? The lady straight up mispronounced her own daughter's name, more than once, and outright says the only thing special about her is her mom, aka herself, and then puts her down on live television and you want her to bond with her? For what, so she can be happy, and that maybe they'll make each other better? The woman threw a fit for not being seated in the front row in her debut episode and was firing people over her impossible standards, why do you want her kid, who's pretty terrible too, to bond with a horrible woman like that when said woman is also the root of her many issues?
It's like trying to make peace with Gabriel and Adrien, the man straight up threatens to take Adrien out of the school more than once as a bargaining chip so that he won't be disobeyed or have his friends make him act out of line or just to threaten his friends with the possibility if they cross him, yet Marinette is still gonna honor his wish in the season 5 finale of making Adrien remember all the times he was a good dad after learning he was the local magical terrorist whom she's been fighting all show long and who repeatedly hurt his own son, herself and made tons of people suffer under his capricious whims. But Marinette's response is always to have the kids try to make up with their parents no matter how shitty said parents are and that the kids would be better off without them.
Let's be real here Marinette should not bother sticking her nose in their complicated and toxic family business, she is not equiped and mature enough to make it all better. She thinks she's doing them a favor with her good intentions but the fact is Audrey was horrible long before Marinette was even born so she wasn't gonna really change simply because she bonded with ChloĂŠ, as later seasons proved, and Gabriel thinks it doesn't matter if Adrien suffers now when Emilie will be back it will all be good.
Marinette is horribly naive in family relations, she thinks because her family is loving and caring others are like that too and they just need a push to see the way but it's way more complicated than that, hearing Marinette it seems adults have all the excuses in the world to act the way they do because they care, they love them and wants to protect them but not all of them are like that and despite seeing it with her own eyes she still thinks they just need to talk it out.
People's feelings and thoughts have always been Marinette's weakness, and she still fails at them when it counts. Thing is she is good at making complicated plans and bringing them to fruition, but when it comes to people's feelings, reactions and thoughts about it, she's a sitting duck, because she always assume what she wants to happens with them will happen because she has already thought for them and decided for them what they will think about it, instead of actually asking and listening to them, which is why a lot of her plans fail and upset people, she projects herself on them constantly and assumes they think the way she thinks they do, and she never stop this pattern despite being proven wrong and wrong again.
So at this point her good intentions don't help anyone but herself because she gets to feel good about her choice to help them but she actually hasn't helped them at all because they are still stuck in abusive relationships with their parents while she still has her loving family back at home.
How important are birthdays and ages in stories?
Both are equally important
Birthdays are more important
Ages are more important
Neither are important
Unless you're really pedantic about timelines birthdays don't really matter all that much. Ages do matter, though, especially when you're talking about teenage characters. Even a two year difference can mean a gigantic gap in maturity. Even if you're willing to be a little vague with that, the characters' age relative to each other will also completely alter the dynamics. It's why I'll never get over Luka being retconned from Juleka's older brother by two years to her twin. Those are not the same thing, writers.

Honestly, watching TA's "Birthday's are stupid irrelevant info" meltdown on Twitter just kind of...reaffirmed my view of him basically being french Ken Penders - both wanted to work in "the big leagues" and make "sophisticated, adult works" for a clearly older audience that would launch them to stardom and make them into "true artists". Unfortunately(?), life, lack of brand recognition, and the minefield that is media corporations did not allow them their grand start they dreamed of and they were thus forced to "degrade" themselves making children's media pieces instead. However, they just could not let go of their magnum opus and those dreams of an easy rise to artistehood that they've been dragging alongside them for so many years, and as such decided that instead of simply putting the story aside for a time until they had the capital and proper industry foothold necessary to actually bring them onstage in the manner they desired - they instead cannibalized (or in TA's, mutilated and them reanimated the desiccated remains) the work they were given to force in their ideas and had the magnum opus basically wear the plots they were supposed to be writing like a misshaped skinsuit as it caused their show/comic to fall apart at the seams trying to sustain two different half-lives within itself. And if anyone complain? Well, they're just haters who "can't see the vision" and are trying to bring them down, just like those corporate jerks who sneered at them and wouldn't let their poor Magnm Opuses see the light of day, forcing them to have to use such "disgraceful" methods just to ensure their grand works are seen by the unwashed masses to be properly enlightened by their genius.
And even now, several years in, they're still not over never being "given a proper chance to shine", using social media and their respective PR teams's near neglectfulness to jaw on and on about all their "cool and amazing" (Read: poorly optic considered and boarderline racist) ideas and worldbuilding that never seems to ever make it to the screen/page (and when they do - Whoa boy...), pick fights with critcs and media franchises way outside their weightclass (and in Ken's case, making endless frivolous copyright lawsuits over one he was pointedly fired from), and just make their grudge over not being allowed to make their "true" versions into reality everyone else's problem (though with how they've treated the versions we were given, one must wonder if this was not a blessing in disguise).
