“Hey I’m one of those college kids struggling to stay awake and hand assignments in sir.”

Dad: Hey kiddo. How are you doing?

Dad: We miss you too, a lot. Your brother drew this awesome portrait from a picture we have of you two when he started Kindergarten

Dad: Mom and I are good. You know how she is, always busy and I'm going to accompany Clark on a tour next month so we are prepping for that

Erin: I'm good, focusing on school and stuff

Erin: I can't wait to see it, I really miss that munchkin.

Kolbe: Good job, babe. I'm proud of you. I miss you too.

Erin: Thanks :)

Kolbe: Hey yourself, gorgeous.

Kolbe: I'm doing good. Just finished up a case. How are you?

Erin: I am officially done my essay, submitted and everything.

He chuckled softly at her words and shook his head. “I am happy to clean up the rose petals, Pretty Girl.” Kolbe pressed a kiss to her hand and then let go so that he could pull out the chair for her before claiming his own chair and reaching out for Erin’s hand once again. He really loved this girl, more than he’d thought possible. Dating Erin had taken some getting used to, after all people were really interested in the life of Erin Barclay, but it was worth it, every minute of it.

“Nope- you don’t raise finger tonight, all about me taking care of you,” she said sitting down before him only because he got the chairs before she could. She laced her fingers with his, wearing a stupid grin on her face. Erin didn’t think it was possible to be this happy because of another person, he was literally like a light in her life and there no way she was ever going to give it up. Erin knew she came with complications, but the way Kolbe stood up to the task was way better than any of her past boyfriends. “In favour of the holiday- heartshaped pizza.”

“Babe…” He said softly when the blindfold had been removed, taking a look around at what Erin had set up. “This is great.” Kolbe murmured, turning to tug Erin close to him, pressing a kiss to her lips. “You didn’t have to do this. You know that right?”

Erin gently kissed him back before pulling away and shaking her head. “I don’t always do things because I have to,” she said taking his hand leading him to the table. Erin didn’t see it as that big of a deal, it was something small that didn’t impede on businesses. She really would’ve hated the idea of the secret service having to shut down a restaurant just so she could spend time with her boyfriend. “Besides I did get joy out of forcing Brian to spread rose petals on the floor- although I doubt these are going to be much fun to clean up,” she said with a chuckle.
