“i’m balancing an incredible amount on my plate right now, and yes. music happens to be one. people need to have a reason to smile and i’m happy to be one. it’s a different kind of public service.”

“i’ve never delayed an album. i can’t start now.”

“maybe, but it helps take my mind off of things. i need to stay sane somehow.”

“hi, cindy. i’m alison. or, if we’re doing the fancy names, dazzler.” she extended her hand. “silk? i’m a big fan of you as well. you’re awesome.”

“my power is based on sound conversion. music’s just my sound of choice.”

“back when i used to tour, i always had to keep my body at peak performance. water, working out, meditation. the whole nine yards. it helped teach me to compartmentalize. it’s a balancing act.” 

“i’m doing a benefit for F.E.A.S.T. because the terrible tragedy that went down with the head coordinator. i’d be happy to donate as well.”

“i’ve been a superstar since you were in diapers, kiddo. i’m not concerned.”

“wait, time hole? who told you that?” sure, there were time holes in the figurative sense but she wasn’t sure if loki meant literally. “it’s a video platform where people post dances and make-up tutorials and memes. here,” she pulled out her phone and quickly typed something in. “this is my song the serpent is coming. people mouth the lyrics to it and dance to it because it got rediscovered.” which actually made her feel really, really old.

“i’ve had people ask at worse times.” she dug around in her bag for the silver sharpie she kept on her. “what am i signing?” 

“a S.H.I.E.L.D. debriefing said we’re transitioning. transitioning into a new phase? stage? reality? i have no idea.”

“the technical terms are sound conversion and light protection. a little bit of a simplification but they get the job done.” alison had been focused more on being a citizen of krakoa more than a singer in the homosapien as of late. she did still perform for the mutants masses, though. sometimes lila cheney would join and people would really lose their mind. she caught a sight of daisy’s brow rising and shrugged. “maybe it’s not a bad thing. i made myself hyper visible a long time ago and now it feels like i don’t have much of a choice sometimes.”

“i’m helping people keep their minds off of things.” alison corrected him. “it’s part of being a singer. you get people to focus on you and not the multiverse crumbling, which they can’t do anything about.”

“I keep telling everyone we need to clean better.” Alison tsked before she spotted a black pen and grabbed it. “I’ve been hit by a dash of inspiration for a song. I do still actively productively, you know.”

“vibe. you know, the slang? attuned, in energy with, etc? very popular with the youth. who are, coincidentally, some of my fanbase.” the pop star shook her head. “it’s okay. you have time to learn.”

“you should. people pay a lot of money for that.”

“i have an album coming out but all this energy is seriously bad.”
