Thank you! [Dylan said, making his way inside and looking the door behind him. He glanced around.] Fancy place you got here. What’s this? [He pointed to a beaker filled with a blue liquid.]

You nearly gave me a scare! How did you get locked outside? 

Someone probably locked it from the inside. You know, for a safety measure or whatever. Can I come in?

“Uh–how to concentrate on more than one thing, where to hit–stuff like that.”She said as she looked away from him once more recalling everything that Liam had taught her. “Not to get distracted.”

“Sounds useful.” Dylan mused with a small nod of his head, clearing his throat. “Right, yeah. Eliminate all distractions. We can start by you showing me what you’ve learned.” He said, getting into the right position as he stood in front of her. “Hit me.”

“Oh isn’t that a shame, what ever will people do. Yeah that’s what we have to look forward to, i mean if we make it for summer and can actually walk outside without being attacked. I’ll be sure to look out for your body.”

“I’m sure we will. It’s 2016, we have the resources to end this. But either way, look out for my body. It’ll be the highlight of your day.”

You saw them? Up ahead? Oh gosh – okay, I’ll let you in, but first I need your full name. For the record. It’s protocol. 

Yep. Thanks! Uh, my name is Dylan Anderson.

“I know but you’re hanging outside all willy nilly.”She said quickly throwing the door open for him before letting out a sigh of relief once he was inside and safe. “Hi–”She said quietly as she looked up to him. 

He paused momentarily, holding her stare and getting lost for a short moment before he shook his head. “Okay, so we should get started. What did you learn with Liam yesterday?”

I’m sorry, I’m not authorized to open this door - the main one are around the next corner. What are you doing outside anyway? Were you exposed? Scratched, bitten?

What? Oh come on. No, I wasn’t scratched or bitten. I was taking a walk and I saw a bunch of Crooks up ahead. Which is why I asked if I could step inside for just a moment... for a teeny tiny moment. 

“Why the hell were you outside the wall in the first place? And you know the drill, upstairs to the lab before you make any other stops- how does it look out there?”

“Wha-- seriously? You can’t let me in for a minute or to... I don’t know, grab a weapon? I can’t kill them with my good looks you know.”

“Yeah It’s like dodging people you once knew and saw everyday around town but now them not being themselves. No internet does suck, I’m actually missing it a lot.”

“I know right? And yeah, it really does suck. I can’t post any pictures on instagram showing of my body. But whatever, when the sun comes back out I’ll just start walking around shirtless.” He joked.

What the hell are you doing out there? Are you insane?! Do you have a death wish or something? Get inside!

“I said we’re meeting in the gym -- oh right, did you take the safe way here?” He laughed, stepping into the room. He locked the door behind him. “Hi.”

She thought about it for a moment, she didn’t really think this would be the best idea after she felt all flustered around him but she knew in the long run it would be for the best. The more people she learned from the more strategies she would learn and the better chance she had at survival. “Tomorrow works for me, say around eight ish?”She asked as she liked to be up early anyway, “And wear a shirt.”She commented. 

“Yeah, that words.” Dylan agreed with a nod of his head. He was usually up early anyway, especially now since everything with the virus had been happening. He smirked, “Will do. Unless it gets hot.”
