why does half of the userbase here refuse to engage with life or leave home and then complain about what they think doing so would be like? jesus christ the only avenue for socialization open to you is not “go to bars and talk to complete strangers.” go live your life and do things that interest you or you feel passionately about in group or public settings and you will meet other people by doing so. get a job or a hobby or go to a fucking club if that IS your speed or volunteer or go to shows or arts events or do actual, in-person activism. there are communities around you if you are actually willing to engage with them. it doesn’t always work! it’s not fun 100% of the time! and if you never submit yourself to any kind of discomfort you will never have anything change!
