Sorry to be an unbearable introvert on main, but the fireworks are so loud I can't hear my audiobook. I hope everyone setting them off gets struck by lightning :)

I'm reading Angel Down now (I know i know but listen my adhd meds stopped working this month so I'm fucked also my library jumped me 200 people in the queue for some reason so i have to read it right now in the next few days and return it) and the schtick is the whole book is supposed to be one long sentence, but here is the thing--that guy doesn't know any interesting punctuation or conjunctions, so every "clause" is actually a complete sentence, but instead of a period he just slaps "and" on it and then starts a new thought while expecting me to not notice this when run-on sentences are my forte. Truly? Kinda meh.

This book is very interesting, because a lot of this is basically conversations I have had in a car on the way to the mall--not terribly complicated thoughts, but stuff that only really comes up if you're ruminating--but something about typing it out, printing it, and selling it to other people just feels so fucking pretentious. Maybe it's the one-sided-ness of this narrative being mostly the character's thoughts to himself that comes across very mansplain-y? I'm not sure. I think the hook for me right now is less the story and more trying to figure out if the author is building up a terribly annoying man to tear him down, or if the author is a terribly annoying man himself and doesn't realize it. Only time will tell.
